I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, pay and facility. Limited exposure to leadership. Free water coffee and creamer, but that's all you get. Some very talented colleagues.

    Cons

60 hour work weeks are the norm, some even longer. Assignments are generally under staffed. A corporate culture that rewards those who can navigate a very political organization, and not hard work.

    Advice to Management

Do more for those who keep the ship afloat, and not just pay well.

    Pros

Hardly any. Had a great potential but deteriorated past recovery. Current CIO making attempts but has not addressed key issues.

    Cons

Aweful mindset and culture overun with mediocre management. Result is huge attrition. Highly dysfunctional and political. Re-organisation twice a year to create a illusion of keeping things fresh while ignoring the root causes of issues. Low skilled workforce which results in most work loaded on one person who remains if not left for better opportunity.

    Advice to Management

People are your only asset. Find ways to retain them by eliminating unnecessary and delusional practices. Focus on quality instead of quantity by bullying. Remove known bad senior managers and replace with competent ones who can establish trust and chemistry.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Hardly any if you are seasoned. The only Pro will be for Deloitte. If you are a newbie and fresh out of college without experience then this could be a career builder. Simple as that.

    Cons

Deloitte Global is one of the worst in terms of work life balance. The politics and the toxic managers have made the culture repugnant. I came here against my better judgement. I hope those who are looking for good leadership and management avoid this place at all costs. The brand name is very attractive at first and they use this to tout a great career growth but more than likely you will end up with nothing at all after spending long hours and weekends away from family. Additionally, they are really bad for diversity. You will be lonely if you are a minority especially in this location.

    Advice to Management

Clean up your act. People are the only asset you should be thinking about. Attrition rates speak for themselves. Remove the managers who are toxic and stop allowing them to use the review system to pick and choose and prevent someone from progressing. Be thankful for once of all the hours and sacrifices people make on weekends and reward them with words if not with $$. Stop talking and dreaming of being Netflix like. Just make what you have bearable and then you will at least have a hope of retaining talent. When you succeed, you can look to doing things to attract talent.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

PTO (vacation) - 3 weeks. Unfortunately you are told to use it when you seek comp time when you regularly work 60 hrs a week and weekends.

    Cons

Mismanaged and miguided leadership has run the morale to the ground. The attrition rate is terrible. Managers and PMO lacking rudimentary experience in technology.

    Advice to Management

It's time to stop spending money on bar nights and focus on getting the delivery right. It might help if the CIO or the CTO shows up to connect at the ground level. Be open with the people of the direction and future of OIM. Fire the middle managers who are useless. Stop the blame culture and stop riding on the backs of those who are working horrific hours. Revamp the review process and promote the people who understand the technology and are passionate about their work.

    Pros

Drives project management skills with people, resources and delivering multiple projects in parallel.
Develops very good verbal and written communication skills, includes legal and contracts.
Opportunity to network with a very strong network with high performing partners , directors and principals. strategic partners and third part vendors.
They pay reasonably compensation and beat most of the competition and industry standards.
The weekends are yours if you know how to manage your time. vacation is good and better than most IT firms.
health , medical, dental and legal insurance is good. expenses are taken care if you know how to file them..:)
very strong contributor to society, diversity an equal employment opportunity.

    Cons

if you are looking for a immigration or green card do not not join deloitte.
if you are looking to focus and master a particular industry, technology think of joining deloitte.
Its up or out on goals ever 4-5 years, if you cannot manage an very aggressive company don't try your luck.
Its a highly political firm, if you cannot manage office politics don't venture into the game.
The firm runs with strong numbers which could damage your work life balance.
You will surely be a beat at the end of the day five days a week., there is no friday night for you if you travel.

    Advice to Management

Please treat people like humans and not robots, and please remember your people that have sacrificed their personal life's for the firm with their passion and compromising thier work life balance, partners too have a family and make ten to twenty times the money they pay a resources. Its is not a boot camp, learn to give and take respect to every human out there..

    Pros

health benefits are good. Tuition reimbursement is high, $10k per year. Office location in Center City Philadelphia is nice. High profile company, they do not fret too much on travel costs (no staying at Holiday Inn, but don't expect the Four Seasons either). Good short term disability and long term disability benefits, if needed.

    Cons

Must be with company for a year before receiving tuition reimbursement. Any course they reimburse for must be paid back if you leave the company within one year of taking the course. Office location in Glen Mills PA sucks.

Confusing organization -- it's like 40 small companies instead of one big one. Poor investment in IT -- amazing how many 15" CRT monitors I see in this place being used on a daily basis! Asking for a $200 LCD is like pulling teeth.

Absolutely horrific performance management system, takes a ton of time and makes no sense. No one really cares about it, only that it gets done so no one screams at you.

    Advice to Management

Ditch the current performance management system, get something simpler.
