    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to work with smart people
    Luxury surroundings
    High salary

    Cons

    Back stabbing by colleagues
May be benched for long periods of time and then dinged in performance review for this
Push to create client dependence by over prescribing "to do" items to fix their company
Placement of people without adequate experience on accounts
Reliance on internal networking in order to be assigned work

    Advice to Management

Don't place so much emphasis on performance management but instead develop your people to be able to succeed in their roles. Get rid of your high level partners who are known to be poor people leaders. Just because they sell business doesn't make them valuable to your business.

    Pros

Great culture, great project, and great compensation. A career accelerator. Better work life balance than competitors.

    Cons

None, keep up the good work!

    Advice to Management

Maybe increase the power of the central staffer, as if you do a lot of short-term projects, it can get frustrating to email the same people asking about projects every few weeks.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work with really smart, capable people. Everyone is hustling to prove themselves and work towards a shared goal. Lot's of great perks, lots of vacation days, fun recruiting events.

    Cons

Extremely long hours and no respect for a work life balance. Busy season isn't just from January to April, you could get staffed on a 3/31 year end a 6/30 year end a 9/30 year end all working 55+ hours. Everyone is eating hours left and right.

    Advice to Management

Understand which of your employees are being overworked compared to the average. People need to be evaluated on performance more than currently exists. Increase work/life balance.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The culture at Deloitte is very collaborative and focused on employee development. People are always striving to deliver the absolute best work to their clients.

    Cons

As a consultant, the travel can become a bit much. This is inherent to the consulting industry though so I don't fault Deloitte for the amount I traveled.

    Advice to Management

I would encourage management to be more selective in its recruiting from both undergraduate and graduate universities. At the entry level consultant level I think there is too much disparity in talent.
