I worked at Deloitte as an intern

    Pros

Good work life balance. There wasn't anything gained in being in the office late for no reason.

Great people. I'm not sure if this is just luck or if it's part of the recruitment but it definitely felt like the latter.

    Cons

The busy season (Dec, Jan) is incredibly busy, so I was told.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Allows a degree of autonomy

    Cons

Macho arrogance applauded. Ridiculous promotion processes force competition and back stabbing. Ageism and sexism rife. Rewards selling and ignores ability. Flawed brief they can deliver as well as advise. Insane growth targets.

    Advice to Management

Take a long hard look at yourselves and shed the 80s attitudes before you trip up.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Challenging projects with interesting clients, excellent colleagues to work with.

    Cons

At the time the performance management system was very subjective and ability to steer career path vs need to be utilised on client site did not give give great autonomy to practitioners.

    Advice to Management

Greater profit sharing incentives with practitioners beyond partner would help motivate those who feel under-compensated for the efforts they put in.

Often conducting financial audits as well as IT audits, so had to blag a lot in front of clients

    Advice to Management

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Will take a chance on you if you show potential and come from a different sector. Lots of opportunity to learn and grow and take on responsibility - constant push to move up in terms of your responsibility.

    Cons

Poor culture, such a big London office - 8000 people and you rarely see the same people twice. Also its a VERY competitive environment, people aren't there to be your friend, they are their to get above you and get the promotion. The people are interested in money and the average 26 year old is married and settled. Don't come here to make friends.

    Pros

Great work culture and friendly people to work with in the organisation

    Cons

long work hours during busy season as can be expected in any of the Big 4s.
Low salary in comparison to industry standards

    Advice to Management
