    Pros

    International mobility opportunities
Work with industry leading professionals and great projects
    Social activities
Excellent training initiatives available for all staff

    Cons

Internal processes, technology and resources are archaic and it can be extremely frustrating and slow to perform simple actions/requests/tasks.
It is an expectation that you will work most evenings and weekends (with no compensation)
    Compensation is below market
    Role was not as expected

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Diversity of people, flexible working arrangements, opportunity to change service lines.

    Cons

Legacy of ex-CEO remains, driven more so by bottom line profit than other Big 4 (from my experience). This can come at the sacrifice of keeping talented employees.

    Pros

People are friendly and approachable - even partners will make time to take interns for coffee. A well structured professional development program and performance review process. Clear paths for career progression. Lots of variety with different clients and projects.

    Cons

Not a lot of 'real' work given to interns. HR seemed to lack knowledge about the kinds of work done by different service lines in the business which made it difficult to pick the right preferences. Lack of transparency around the real hours likely to be worked by junior people. I got the impression the whole intern experience was heavily sugar coated. Lack of autonomy for juniors in choosing clients/projects.

    Advice to Management

Make sure interns are provided with interesting and challenging work. This will ensure they get a sense of what their real work at Deloitte would be like and will also make sure they are engaged throughout their internship.

    Pros

Good culture - supportive and fun. Good place to work if you're passionate about your industry i.e. audit / tax.

    Cons

Lots of empty buzzwords thrown around by management. Classic business style driven by recovery, timesheets and utilisation etc. Your promotion more driven by 'perceptions' than actual technical knowledge.

    Advice to Management

    Work out your utilisation issues

"As long as you know what you want. Deloitte will open a lot of doors, and offer good growth opportunity."

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Based on experience at Australian firm:

    * Timely & frequent reviews (every 3 months on a project, plus twice a year) = valuable feedback to grow & learn from
    * Surrounded by highly driven people
    * Good diverse projects (if you push for them - See CON)
    * Knowledgeable Partners
    * Inspiring Board / Leaders
    * Real focus on culture in recent years.
    * Pays attention to professional / career growth
    * Good opportunity to travel (if that's your thing - or a CON if that's not your thing)
    * Great for grads to launch career (especially the diversity of projects)

    Cons

Based on experience at Australian firm:

    * Promotion not based on pure merit or capability - but on relationships & project success (rewards free-riders)
    * Consulting model works on maximising revenue from utilising your skills - which may not coincide with what you want to do - i.e. you end up trapped on bad projects / stuck with same kind of projects.
    * But if you know what you want to do, and is willing to put in the time on bad projects to build your credibility & relationships within the firm with long term view of doing work you want. Deloitte works for you.
    * You will be overlooked unless you shout loud - it's not a place where you can let quality of work speak for itself. You have to speak up to to build reputation in the firm.

    Advice to Management

Cut out the politics, weed out the boys clubs. Attribution in Australian firm in recent years due to lack of respect for employees with skills. Promotions & rewards went to people who shouted the loudest.
