I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A lot of opportunities to grow your network.
High visibility into what is trending and where we're going in the future.
A lot of projects with ample amounts of areas to use your strengths.
I get to work remote sometimes

    Cons

    Everyone seems heads down.
Culture seems to promote working some nights and weekends.
I have been on 5 large projects at once and it made me slip on the lower priority ones.

    Advice to Management

    Create more team building opportunities.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great flexibility
Transparent feedback for improvement to next level through the various reporting metrics
Upward mobility is set in stone if you are good at your job you will get promoted
Great young people to get connected with
Great place to begin caterer but probably not somewhere to stay long term

    Cons

This job requires lots of writing and documentation
    Over worked

    Advice to Management

I think the work could be divided up better. Some new hires get better clients that are large and don’t require one to monitor their hours billed as closely. However if you have multiple small engagements you can gauarentee that your busy season will be year round and there will be no time for pto unless you make the time.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Deloitte has great benefits, including 401(k) match, pension, health, and wellness subsidy. PTO is accrued at a very reasonable rate, and there are generous holidays. Deloitte expects employees to make the most of their time off, so your vacation time is expected to be away from work. There is a pervasive attitude at Deloitte the what is best for your career is what is best for the firm.

    Cons

Deloitte is a high-performance firm, as such, the exception is that employees are high performance. This can lead to long hours and high stress.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Abundance of opportunities to learn. Benefits are great. Tend to hire smart and motivated people.

    Cons

Many senior managers don't know how to manage people. Personal/professional growth are extremely difficult when they don't provide feedback and take actions counter to their words. If you end up with a bad manager, the experience at Deloitte isn't good.

    Advice to Management

Directors need to make a much more concerted effort to talk with people 2-3 levels below them to avoid situations where bad managers continue to get praise because they know how to manage up well.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Good benefits package.

    - Fairly competitive pay.

    - Looks good on your resume.

    - You will work with incredibly smart people.

    Cons

Note that all of this is related to working at the EDSC. Working in other sectors of Deloitte could be great, but I wouldn't know. I'm writing this in hopes of saving at least one person from taking a job at the EDSC. If you were just offered a job by them, but were thinking it sounds too good to be true: you are right.

    - You will be expected to work 60-65 hours a week, but be paid for 40.

    - The employees talking to the client ("Field PMs", aka regional managers) don't know what they're selling or promising. They have never worked a day of eDiscovery in their life. They were moved to regional manager positions within the EDSC because their utilization fell too low at whatever division they were at before. They will promise the client the world before consulting with the team working on the project, at which point it will become your responsibility to "do the impossible."

    - More turnovers than a pastry shop. Don't become too close with anybody, because they are probably in the process of leaving.

    - Zero work life balance. My swing shift coworker left the firm (crazy, right?), and instead of hiring somebody to take his place...they just asked (well, forced) me to work 12 hour shifts instead.

If you're looking for an eDiscovery job in Nashville, run. Run very far away.
