I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Worked done using core tech no fancy frameworks.
Everything is based on core java.
No knowledge or frameworks required for the majority of the projects.
Prepaid Gift cards if you perform well.
Company always throws in additional holidays (up to a week) as gift to their employees.
Women empowerment is priority for the firm.
HR and Tech can't influence each other.

    Cons

Workload can be quite diff based on project to project. Federal department can be relaxed to where Consulting can be stretched sometimes.
Most of the project is based on 15 years of legacy tech.
No knowledge or frameworks required for the majority of the projects.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time

    Pros

Encouraging of continued skills development and practitioner growth. Opportunities to get involved in other efforts, but can take a lot of extra time (see cons below). Deloitte does still fund networking events, training, team outings, etc. that a lot of companies have long since cut from their budgets.

    Cons

A lot of long hours. Even if your normal, project work is manageable, Deloitte expectations around internal (PRD - Practice Development) initiatives will ensure that you never work a simple 40 (or even 45) hour week. Very low base salary increases year over year. Even lower increases for internal promotions. Orlando (and other USDC locations) are not held in the same esteem as the rest of the firm.

    Advice to Management

The performance management process keeps getting revised and gets worse with each revision. Practitioners get little in terms of actionable, impactful feedback. There is very little transparancy and visibility into the decision process and it leaves the impression of the performance reviews merely being a popularity contest, whether based on the practitioner, the counselor, or both.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Big Brand to be associated with.
    Lot of exposure
    Learning and Development

    Cons

While hiring people, they sell it as a zero or less travel roles especially any ERP Consulting positions ( SAP, ORACLE, etc ). But once you get recruited, its the same as core consulting where you are expected to travel 80 to 100 percent. Do not believe if some recruiter tells you that its a less or no travel role in USDC.

    Advice to Management

Please do not mislead the applicants saying that the travel is zero or less in USDC when the reality is different. At least set the expectations right in the beginning in the interview itself so that applicants can make the decision which suits them the best. We relocate and deal with all immigration issues only to find that what ever was told about travel in USDC is a BIG LIE.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Benefits are top notch
    - Expense and Time Tracking systems are easiest/best in the business
    - Bench is handled well

    Cons

    - USDC program is a joke. They sell it as equivalent to core consulting minus the travel when it's anything but.
    - Travel is heavy and expected. It's 2018, need to be more flexible
    - Salary isn't quite competitive
    - Culture is pretty nonexistant

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great Benefits
    Great Place to learn
    Great Branding and Service Lines
Great People (Smart and type A)
    5 Weeks PTO (6 As a Manager)
Partner are pretty much down to earth and pretend to be accessible but are too busy for you

    Cons

Dog eat dog environments in some practices
As you move up, the nastier the partners get
They find every reason not to give you a raise
The expectation of work hours are not realistic
They have favorites and only provide opportunity to those they like
    Unreasonable expectations
Tight budgets and short -turnaround time for projects
Their is no transparency in the rating system and manager are not truthful to your face but will rate you lower than you expected. Good luck finding out who it is if you work for many managers.
Some management is too old school and think they know it all but have not realized that things have changed.
    Diversity is really a facade
Deloitte preaches people first but treat their people poorly at times.

    Advice to Management

Things are changing in the workforce and the old model is not sustainable. Deloitte will lose its place as the top professional services firm. Deloitte preaches people first but treat their people poorly at times.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay scales, well being benefits, PTO's, Learning opertunities

    Cons

Job security of Project based hires seems to be not so good as they will not get any bench time and it depends on immediate redeployment opportunity

    Advice to Management

I will be great if Project based employees get enough bench time for a proper project redeployment.
