    Pros

Deloitte is a big multinational organization that has a huge brand name and very intelligent people. Deloitte respects worklife balance and emphasizes on training a lot even in times of economic difficulty

    Cons

The salary at Deloitte is slightly less than its peers but if you look at the total compensation and benefits, it is at par

    Advice to Management

They feedback and rating process at Deloitte can use some improvement. Currently its more of a popularity contest and does not truly reward people who are excellent at their job

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

    1. Reputation: Looks good on your resume

    2. People: Generally capable and nice to work with

    3. Experience: Exposure to a wide range of projects

    4. Flexibility: To a certain extent, more so for managers and above, you can create your own brand image and do what you are passionate about, as long as you are making $$$ for the firm

    Cons

    1. Compensation: At or below industry average, bonus is a joke

    2. Career Advancement: It’s extremely difficult to get prompted to partner. There is a huge backlog of Sr. Managers in most practice areas.

    3. Favoritism: If you have a powerful partner as your sponsor and are part of his network, then you will be given the right projects and are more likely to get promoted.

    4. Work Life Balance: The bottom line is that you are committed to 100% travel and you will get staffed where you can make $$$ for the firm. When you are on a project, you are expected to bill at least 45 hours/week, excluding any administrative tasks and forced firm activities.

    Pros

Riding the waves of the Deloitte brand. This company is a great place to tell people you work and many people find it impressive you work there.

    Cons

Deloitte knows they are a good company, so leverages that to treat their employees poorly. It's the, "we know we are great, you should be honored to work for us" mentality. The time commitment employees must undertake is often relentless and it comes without ANY recognition and financial incentive. Additionally, the review process takes entirely too long and is not beneficial when it even comes. Clients are scare and work is few and far between. It's not the good ole days like it once was.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better with up-front, honest feedback to show recruits, and employees the true life that is Deloitte.

You get to travel everywhere and work with different clients. Also you get to see so many different industries and clients. You will soon see that after a couple of years you are more advanced in your general business knolodge than anyone else. Also most of the people you start with become your good friends.

    Cons

The travel can sometimes get to a bit long. Also it sounds very 3rd grade but its hard to make friends with people in the city you live in when you are only in town the weekends.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on the people and feedback.

    Pros

Project change keeps it interesting. Travel perks and rewards are good when not staffed on a local project. Fridays and days in the home office are flexible. Deloitte supports work/life balance and you can guide your career at a pace you are happy with. Great support to start out and Deloitte provides a wide range of experiences for new hires. This can help develop skills in many areas which can be a great start to a career. Training and development opportunities are plentiful and you guide your growth. Flexible travel arrangements - you can fly home or somewhere else when on a project as long as the cost is the same. When not on a project you actively seek assignment, but in the meantime it is okay to have a few slow days to recharge.

    Cons

Travel can be exhausting. Hours required are very high. Highly competitive rating system. If you get staffed on a project in a city you are not fond of it can be horrible, but at least it will end eventually. While Deloitte strives to help employees maintain work/life balance, it can still be very difficult to schedule vacation time during projects. Deloitte's policy is 3-4-5 - basically meaning you travel Mon.-Thurs. and are in your home office on Friday. However, there are many times you must begin travel on a Sun. and don't get home until late on Thurs., but it varies project to project so it all changes eventually.

    Advice to Management

The best project managers are those who allow their employees to have flexibility as far as taking days to recharge and travel expenditures.
