I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    1. ~30 days PTO + holidays
    2. INCREDIBLE health insurance - can't be beat (which you'll need due to stress)
    3. Insane experience (by insane I'm obviously referring to the hours that give you that experience)
    4. 90% fantastic people - truly.
    5. Decent STARTING salary for a recent grad (but quickly becomes sub-par with the raises & crooked rating system, especially when you consider the hours you work)

Ultimately a GREAT place to start your career as long as you know exactly what you're signing up for - and don't trust anybody. Just drink the kool-aid, play the game, and get out as soon as you get "the" opportunity you've been looking for.

    Cons

    1. HOURS - this is a Big 4, of course.
    2. Pressure to "eat" hours to make budget - so much for being ethical.
    3. While Cathy means well with her work/life fit initiative - the tone at the top is really set at your office level, which can be a crapshoot (good luck!)
    4. Always feeling over worked, under paid and unappreciated
    5. LEAST paid Big 4 (at least in FL that is the case)

There is no money to be made in the Big 4 unless you're a partner - but you have to sell your soul for that title so IMO it's not worth it. Stay until senior if you can, and start looking!

    Advice to Management

Manage with positive reinforcement rather than negative - a little appreciation goes a long way. And keeping people in the office late at night is only going to blow the budget in the end because NO ONE is going to be productive when you force them to stay - they're going to wiggle the mouse out of spite until you set them free. Are we not all adults? Stop babysitting. And most importantly - CARE about the person, not just the employee - you may have gotten so busy making a living that you forgot to make a life - but that is rarely going to be the case with the generation coming in so you either adapt or lose the workforce to the companies that have figured it out! "Staying until manager" is no longer necessary with all the social networking capabilities out there - you're lucky if they stay long enough to get that senior title. Unless you give them a reason to WANT to stay. The amount of good people I've seen leave the FL market because of the more recent "tone at the top" is a shame - but when all you care about is your bottom line....farewell & good luck!

Good project at some of really big companies. Very smart and dedicated team members.

    Cons

    1. Nickel dime attitude on billing/expenses
    2. Work life balance is always a struggle
    3. Be ready to navigate the 'blue-eyes' ceiling for upward mobility/ growth

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent with employees regarding giving them a realistic feedback on their career growth. Try to build a more inclusive environment to help grow everyone

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent but expensive benefits, lots of PTO to counter the management initiative to burn out longer term employees. Great growth potential if you are willing to sell your soul to a partner, principle or director who has already sold their soul to their bank accounts.
    Constantly evolving technology and practices.
This is a great opportunity to make some contacts with clients to further your future, just don't try and subscribe to the thinking it's a long term career opportunity.

    Cons

Constant churn and burn driven by the current powers to be. Change is never fully thought out and followed through so it's sort of like swimming laps in a pool, but turning before you reach the end. Unreasonable expectations to work 65 - 90 hour weeks with no compensation beyond an occasional high priced meal.
Upper management and C levels are just that, managers and not leaders to those in the field churning out results.

    Advice to Management

Go back to the way it was

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great opportunity to learn at a very fast pace. You have the freedom to explore a large variety of business verticals and solutions. Lots of very smart people and great networking.

    Cons

Very poor performance rating system. Yearly reviews are very political and biased, and not about performance. Very much seems like a "good ole' boys" club in my experience. If you have the unfortunate experience of working with senior management that you do not get along with, do not have same ethical bar or even male/female dynamic, ethnic and culture background clash, you are in for a bad experience, with little opportunity for recognition or growth. You are punished for taking PTO, paternity/maternity/FML in the form of not being able to hit your metrics for the year.

    Advice to Management

Work to create a better way to quantify the contributions that employees make. Recognize them properly, and build a more inclusive atmosphere.
