    Pros

Vast array of engagements, keeps you busy, you can expand/enhance your knowledge and work all day and night if you want

    Cons

No ethics, certain of CIO appointed leaders harrass employees, no accountability, subjective evaluations, HR looks the other way, certain leaders retaliate against workers because they know they are not held accountable, CIO fully aware of his appointed leaders aggression towards others, required to work 15+ hours and then screamed at if they don't like something, no work life balance, threatening place to work.

    Advice to Management

Advice to Senior Partners, clean up the mess the CIO has created before everyone leaves and then you are left with the head nodders....no integrity or ethics in Information Technology Services and why is everyone afraid to hold people accountable for their actions. HR/Talent won't even address these on-going issues. No competent employee wants to continue their career in Information Technology Services.

    Pros

Generally a good reputation, continuation of college (i.e. young co-workers who are relatable), they pay for your cpa exam and study material

    Cons

Long hours, sub-par raises/bonuses, long hours, continuous layoffs in this bad economy, management takes advantage of the staff because they know we're just there for the name, long hours. If you want to see what it's really like youtube "Public Accounting Episode 1 (xtranormal)" - this tells you the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

    Advice to Management

Take a larger pay cut and funnel some of that money down to the staff who work 70+ hours a week. Listen to what the staff are requesting and take action.

    Pros

One of Big 4 firms, ability to obtain a broad range of experience quickly, good if you like to travel, generally talented work force, good travel policies, laptops are decent, good internal resources on technical topics, still fairly well respected by clients int he market, can be a great place to work if you are lucky enough to land in a group led by good management / practice leaders

    Cons

Very weak leadership, multiple reorgs, culture is very bad for employees, leadership tolerates bad behavior on the part of management, ethical standards are very weak, very litigious company, long track record for firing employees that bring up any ethical issues, viewed as hard to do business with by customers, incentive structure encourages counterproductive internal competition vs. focus on winning projects for the firm, used to be much better run before 2005, many talented people leave due to poor work environment / lacck of leadership

    Advice to Management

get back to basics, focus on clients and treating employees well, get leaders in place that have actual leadership skills, change incentive structure to eliminate ounterproductive internal competition between groups so that the firm can win more projects and be more successful, reward good behavior / have zero tolerance for bad behavior

    Pros

Decent pay, ability to work internationally, ability to work from home on Fridays, above average social events (as long as the company is making money)

    Cons

Basically the job required a ton of time, multiple weeks, weekends, and holidays to be spent at client site even when no work was being done. Far more concerned with the appearance of "hard-work" than the delivery of quality work.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue. You're not an elite consulting firm, so don't treat your employees like their priveledged to be working for you.

If you fall into the lap of a right Partner or Senior Manager and you perform well, life can be good for you.
Or if you are a 21 year old pretty girl out of college. ( I am SERIOUS, not being sarcastic)
    People are surprising friendly.
Eat well on the corporate card.

    Cons

Indentured Labor. Partners and Directors will treat you like you are at their perpetual servitude.
I noticed their treatment of Deloitte India resources on a project in US. They made them work like dogs, just a step short of putting them in shackles. Terrorized them nightly by making rounds at 11 pm etc...
Highly unethical behavior by Partners an Directors on projects, they have come to believe they are golden gods, will smile at your face but treat you like dirt.
WIll force you to work 80/100 per week. If you complain, they will say don't abuse yourself and then come after you like thunder.

    Advice to Management

Send all your negatively reviewed partners and directors to Afghanistan. Let them all die there, then hire new fresh blood that is not from Mordor.

    Cons

Leadership has been described as the “process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task”. Definitions inclusive of nature of leadership have also emerged

    Advice to Management

On the day your job title includes “manager” others depend on you. They will look to you for leadership, guidance, or advice.

    Pros

Salary, Benefits and Vacation time is competitive with Industry. Depending on the project/staffing, you are allowed to take ample vacation time to re-energize.

    Cons

Resource Management is the worst! They are supposed to be there to help you find new projects so you can keep your job but nobody helps; everything you do to get a new project is completely on who you know (Networking).

    Advice to Management

Completely revamp Resource Management; they don't do anything to help people keep their jobs. The annual review system is also inadequate and needs to be dumped and redone. Counselors who are supposed to do your review don't know anything about your work and are only looking to save their jobs; creates a very negative environment.
