I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Smart people, access to great resources, big emphasis on continuing education, known career trajectory/path.

    Cons

They will work you to death (even outside of busy season). One's experience at Deloitte can be 100% impacted by who your partner/manager is on your engagements. I've dealt with great partners/managers and others that will throw you under the bus in a heartbeat.

    Advice to Management

    Staffing is always a mess.

    Pros

Access to trainings/development, extensive travel, smart coworkers, flexible work arrangements are relatively easy to achieve, access to leadership both internally and externally.

    Cons

Awful company culture, limited flexibility in career path despite what recruiters will tell you, timed promotions mean you have managers who should not be in charge of other human beings.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The learning opportunities are unparalleled. For nearly every engagement you are staffed on, you will be able to look back and think... "I sure learned a lot."

    Cons

Your career could be shaped (positively or negatively) by a seemingly random client situation where the best employee could be placed on the worst client, or vice versa.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits-PTO, sabbaticals, tuition reimbursement, flexible work locations and part time available for many roles

    Cons

Bureaucracy-despite using all the buzzwords "innovation, "disruption", etc. the firm is far too large to be agile
Hierarchy-get ahead by stroking the right egos
Limited career advancement for internal employees
No 360 feedback for internal leaders

    Advice to Management

Require upward feedback for internal leaders, hire some external MBAs to advise partners on business matters. Partners know accounting, but do not have the skills to really run a business of this size.

    Pros

    Good Salary, good client exposure.

    Cons

No bench period for Solution Manager onsite.

    Advice to Management

Should think about employee who REALLY works with client and make them with their work not MANAGERS who just fly and dont know anything.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good company to start your career: back practice experience, diverse projects, exposure to different industries, smart colleagues, nice management, fast learning culture, fair career opportunities, decent work-life balance...

    Cons

Salary is not competitive for Senior Associates and Managers, especially if translated in $ per hour. As such many people leave the company seeking for better paid jobs.

    Advice to Management

It is sad to see many smart people leaving the company just due to non-competitive salary. Unfortunately, company is ready to pay high salary to Directors and Partners... However, I guess, this issue is relevant for all Big4 companies. It seems to be a significant part of the business model.
