I have been working at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It is a great place to work if you are joining the professional services. I made the mistake of joining the enabling areas ( support services) and trust me I made one of the biggest career mistake.
The quality of work and peer is really below par in the enabling areas

    Cons

too much power on the managers which ideally should be optimized. Else as an organization this place is amazing

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Challenging, meaningful work, and endless opportunities for growth if you are willing to put in the effort. Deloitte definitely has great benefits too (e.g. 25 days of PTO each year, extended Holidays, top-notch family/parental leave, well-being subsidy, etc). The experience you will gain from working here will take you far in your career.

    Cons

I guess if you don't have the kind of work ethic Deloitte expects out of its employee's, this could be a tough environment for you; otherwise, no cons I can think of.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great PTO (accrue 25 PTO days/year)

    Cons

    Unrealistic utilization expectations (90% requirement)

    Advice to Management

More bonuses throughout fiscal year for employees on PDM

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really like the company, it's perks, reward structures, incentives, etc.

    Cons

Poor work/life balance, overemphasis on corporate life rather than technical project work

    Advice to Management

Encourage employees who prefer technical skills over networking/corporate-life skills

I worked at Deloitte (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Yes, they had a solid benefit package...

    Cons

but don't you dare use the PTO because you will get slammed for it.

Your expected to work 40 billable hours week..sounds fair, right? To get you target you need to work 52x40=2080 hrs. Anything short and you 'fail to meet expectations'...so look at it..say you need 2 weeks away (80 hrs), that doesn't count as billable hours. you would then have to work 8 weeks at 50 hrs a week just to break even, and since you would be gone from the project for so long, a good chance you would be replaced and it would be incumbent on you to find another project so you could start making billable hours again.

That type of thinking permeates the entire company, at least in the DC area.

    Advice to Management

If they were listening, they wouldn't suffer the turn over they have.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Deloitte (More than a year)

    Pros

There's a lot of room to move. I should take more advantage of that. I've been on the same project for almost two years and I think I would be happier if I looked to work on different kinds of projects.
    Well-Being Subsidy is nice
Other fringe benefits are nice, but there are fewer benefits for people working in Project Delivery (generally federal) fields
    Travel can be nice

    Cons

Manager says Deloitte is a hard company to work for
Intense review of client work products-my team spends tons of time working on deliverable review. 4-8 hour conference calls to review deliverable content are not uncommon
Everyone works more than 40 hour weeks. Project employees are expected to work 42 hours per week. You can't take all vacation if you work less. Commercial sector and PPD track employees are expected to work closer to 50-60 hour weeks.

    Advice to Management

Limit hours people are allowed to work to decrease the amount of time wasted on non value add activities. People will work leaner projects and employees will be happier if time is focused on highest priority tasks.
Spend money to make money-if you want to develop federal market, you have to spend money courting the business. Right now almost all of the PDM track is federal. There's no room to grow business if employees are not allowed to bill to business development.
