    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It pays well and for that reason it has some very capable people.

    Cons

Experience depends on Partner in-charge. I worked for Deloitte Audit program within Deloitte Global (DTTL). It is a consultant culture and very partisan environment. I witnessed open discrimination, witch-hunting, and distortion of the facts by leadership. They recently laid of half the people who worked for the program a few weeks after they forced several of them to work over weekends for months. You will not do well unless you are part of ruling clique.

    Advice to Management

    Change Deloitte Audit's leadership

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

    Great culture
    Lots of available learning
Leadership has an open door policy
    Great flexibility within some departments
Great work/life balance with most of the functions

    Cons

If you're not in a function that brings in revenue, it will be very difficult to progress your career. Pay and bonuses are not competitive with the other firms.

    Advice to Management

Layout a career path for your employees based on their experience, personal desires, and company need. Work with your employees on EXACTLY what is expected from them to progress and/or get a high rating for the year.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Vacation days, employee benefits & perks, lots of opportunities.

    Cons

There is competition and favoritism within the groups. Too much criticism, not enough positive acknowledgement or encouragement from within the team. Too many long hours, no balance between personal life and work.

    Advice to Management

The success of a whole team comes from both individual and team effort. A leader should promote encouragement and motivate ALL team players to work together.

  10. "Good corporate culture, with a lot of employee learning and development focus but too many managers"

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Strong learning and coaching culture
    - A very valuable brand name in Client Services, Finance, Tax, IT and consulting industries.
    - Average and sometimes competitive compensation packages
    - Very good benefit packages and maternity/ paternity leaves.

    Cons

    - Too much bureaucracy and favoritism.
    - Its not what you do, its who you know to grow in this organization, all this is secretly swept under the shadow of the notion of "networking". its too political.
    - Too many managers and senior leadership, which makes it very hard and challenging to grow in this company.
    - Too much work for the pay, you will end up working 10 hours almost daily handling multiple teams and audit clients daily.
    - Extremely high expectations from Partners.
    - An astounding number of lunch meetings, breakdown meetings, war rooms etc.

    Advice to Management

    - Lower expectations,
    - Devise smart promotion and raise plans to make sure employees do not expect growth too rapidly.
    - Form a good smart work life balance by reducing work and red-tape.
