    I worked at Deloitte full-time

    Pros

Good location in City, trendy office

    Cons

Exploitative of juniors, 'networks' are the only important thing, not quality of work.

    Advice to Management

Try and be more honest to clients and employees.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    + Unlimited free training available
+ Unlimited social gatherings. You can basically spend every night of the week going to a company social gatherings and get free drinks and food
+ Great opportunity for 100% career driven individuals who want to be at the top of their game
+ Great opportunity to do a lot of travelling worldwide

    Cons

+ Working at Deloitte is not a job, its a complete lifestyle where every moment of your waking life is spent doing something related to Deloitte. Do not think about working at Deloitte if you are looking for a 9-5 job.
+ Exceptionally long hours, frequently working right through the night!
+ Very little direction from your managers...you are expected to be 100% autonomous.
+ Travel 4 days a week. Leave Monday morning and come back Thursday night.
+ Do not think about joining Deloitte unless you are able to sell yourself in a confident manner.
+ It is mostly about your ability to sell a story to your client and your colleagues.
+ Analysts and Consultants do 90% of the work while Senior Management sell stories to clients and colleagues.
+ Partners mostly watch the money roll in.

    Advice to Management

+ What are you doing is obviously working so I would say keep printing that money!

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Grads start together in a big group so you make friends quickly.
    Free fruit in the office.

    Cons

    Work/life balance.
Lots of travel (which they don't tell you about until you start) and overnight stays, sometimes up to 6 weeks at a time.
Not paid enough for the hours or stress levels.
Treated like children - very patronising as everyone has 'grades' and you are referred to as 'the S1s' or 'the AM1s' around the office.
Very segregated in offices... people stick to who they know, which is pretty sad for the newbies.

    Advice to Management

Be more clear of the pros and cons during recruitment. Try to make the teams more inclusive.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You will learn a lot in your first few years and be tested. Support to take professional exams

    Cons

Extremely long hours, most aggressive culture of the Big4, I saw a lot of bullying and petty behaviour. Lack of appreciation.

    Advice to Management

Make sure people are being supported, not intimidated.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Work flexibility is really good and there are lots of opportunities to work from home and also to travel

    Cons

Salaries have been held down year after year and managers with 4 years + worth of experience now receive less than they have in previous years

    Advice to Management

Treat your staff with a lot more respect and they may want to work for you and put in the extra effort. The disrespectful cutting of salaries just leads to disillusioned staff that want to leave

I worked at Deloitte (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - is still respected in the markets so can add further weight to a good cv

    - very well polished, it is quite amazing to see

    Cons

Do not play well with others - if you did not join at the bottom do not expect to be supported in anyway when you join. If you are not a lifetimer then you are there to make the firm money off your own back. No intros, no help

General lack of experience - The general level of experience of peers was far less than expected and less than is required by 90% of the clients. Common to have a consulting Director with 5 years less experience than me, advising on something they are in no way an expert on.

Farming of your contacts - I caution doing this in any form as you will simply not receive any credit for it. People will turnover you to take leads.

Poor bonuses and salary increases - they are very small, if you receive them at all. Last in first out culture which is made very obvious by this process.

Blocking access to clients - new hires, especially those from industry who have significant experience are blocked from key accounts so as to protect revenue for those who are longer serving/part of the old watch.

Inadequate knowledge management - trying to find a case study or 'method' is next to impossible with people avoiding sharing material or simply not responding to mails.
