I have been working at Deloitte (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to work if in the right area with rapid career progression and tons of opportunities to learn. Focus on innovation and forward looking company. Did breadth of work from audit to consulting. Global network.

    Cons

Can be hierarchical with opportunities allocated by seniority not potential or ability. Large organisation. Can be bureaucratic. Can be risk averse. Some roles lead nowhere.

    Advice to Management

    Delegate more

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The name alone gets you noticed and having the name on your CV can literally open doors.
You even get upgraded for free on car hire, hotel bookings etc when you use your Deloitte email to make bookings.
People really do take you seriously because you work for Deloitte and have high expectations of you.
Great company benefits and access to really good discount on day to day products. I really miss that.

    Cons

Rigid Graduate Structure. I tried to move up but because i wasn't a Grad, they would not help me so i left.
    High work load
    Long hours
Because of the name, you get less competitive salary
Some of the employees think they are too posh

    Advice to Management

Some employees would like opportunity to move up but the rigid structure prevents this. Need to make provisions for all employees with ambition and willing to work hard.

I worked at Deloitte as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

You gain exposure to real life case studies which gives an eye opening insight into the firm and the job itself.

    Cons

There were no cons at all and that just emphasises how great an internship here actually is in helping you decide what you want to do.

    Neutral Outlook

    I worked at Deloitte full-time

    Pros

    For Consulting:
Great variety of clients, projects and roles
    Talented proactive colleagues
    Good mentoring and coaching

    Cons

Occasional long hours (but I never felt they were unreasonable).

    Advice to Management

I wonder if, given the size of the company, there should be less emphasis on development needs (which is an oft used phrase) and more on designing an organisational structure which enables people to build on their natural talents. It always felt like there were only a few acceptable moulds for success. Perhaps more diversity in the leadership might enable this?

I worked at Deloitte as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very intuitive, provides challenging task. A very good summer spent to gain insights behind the life of a consultant.

    Cons

Hard to get intro strategy consultancy. Segregates Strategy consultancy with management consultancy, causes minor confusion during application.

    Advice to Management

Offer the option to apply for specific groups since the inception of application process. Allocating random departments might not be ideal for everyone.
