I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good learning and development program
salary package is slightly better compared to the other Big 4 firms
Agile working - allows employees to work from home
London offices situated close to City

    Cons

    Too much politics
Attrition rates are very high and this has impacted workload for existing employees and so
    Long hours
Offshore resource team in HYD are not very productive / effective even though the Deloitte business model is to use that team for all transactional work.
Morale in the office is not very high
Leadership team looking to move /relocate a lot of the open positions to Cardiff and Bristol as it is cheaper, more cost effective for them but an operational nightmare.

    Advice to Management

Team morale needs to improve as it is impacting productivity
Messaging to the group needs to be open / transparent
Resourcing at team levels needs to be closely reviewed and monitored
HYD challenges need to be addressed

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

People that work there are generally very smart.
Some interesting work and development in the Digital space

    Cons

It's all about partner profit and partners do make many irrational, self-interested decisions.
Anyone will stab you in the back with the aim of getting on - and this is practically encouraged/expected by the firm.
Some decent internal development courses available but very little chance of getting time off your project to attend.
It's easy to find yourself in the back of beyond, on some uninteresting project that isn't aligned to your skillset or career goals with little chance of getting out.

    Advice to Management

Sort out your employee model and engage properly with the non-partner team members

    Cons

Not great pay. Bonuses pretty poor to non-existent at the junior end.

    Pros

Mostly good people. Variety is good and you get an interesting perspective on the industry you work in. Good training available

    Cons

Opaque structure. Downside to variety is that you can find yourself working hard in an uninspiring role with minimal recognition

    Pros

Working with good and young people, challenging work environment, opportunity to grow

    Cons

It is all about equity partner profit, ruthless people, profit trumps anything else at the end.

    Advice to Management

Think more holistically about your model. Shafting people below to get extra profit for what is already overpaid equity partners can only be a short-term strategy

    Pros

Gives you all the tools necessary to immerse yourself in business through an easy transition from university to work

    Cons

Hours can be very long, especially for the pay you are receiving. There has been a restructuring in the company which has lead to confusion and more questions than answers

    Advice to Management

Ensure that they know what they are trying to achieve with this transition and HR to provide more support when moving divisions internally in Deloitte

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Access to brilliant training and great people

    Cons

Gets very political at middle management level up. Pretty poor at integrating experienced hires.

    Advice to Management

Fix the politics and squabbling partners. Develop a clear plan for integrating experienced hires - you consult clients on how to do it - it's pretty embarrassing that it's done so poorly.
