    Pros

    TL;DR:

    -great benefits
-some of the smartest people i've worked with, from a technical perspective
-good management at least on my project

Deloitte is a good company, particularly if you have a passion for your work and manage to get onto a project (keep that in mind for later) that generally interests you. You can easily expect a yearly raise (this is a huge firm after all), especially if you put the work into your projects. I'm not exactly a social butterfly, but I haven't really met any people that acted unprofessionally. The team I work with knows when to get serious, and when to crack a joke, but we always manage to get our work done on time. Your work will get recognized if you put enough effort into it, and the firm will look for work for you if your current project falls through. They are trending towards having more work/life balance throughout the year, adding 1-2 more "well being" days for employees (essentially more days off).

    Cons

And now for the cons. These cons are the only reason I didn't rate Deloitte 4/5 stars, but I have my reasons:

-utilization metrics: you are expected to put in X amount of hours per years towards the client based on your job title. This can get tedious to manage; you will NEVER be able to reasonably use all your vacation days, and you will likely accrue way more than you actually use thanks to this system -- which makes it impossible to use all your vacation.

-tedious oversight. You will have a "counselor" that you check in with occasionally, you are expected to confirm your work availability at the beginning of each week, you will need X amount of learning hours per year that you do on your own outside of these courses. You are strongly encouraged to "contribute to the firm" in some form in order to look better at the year end. You can work hard but only get recognized for average work.

-networking can be a real pain. You are strongly encourage to network -- in fact you pretty much have to, if you want to find a project that you are interested in. Even then, it can be virtually impossible to get in touch with people that can get you onto a project you are interested in. You may spend days, weeks, waiting for an email reply -- but often you will have to bug people multiple times. Be ready for many dead ends. Talk is cheap but email is cheaper. This is easily my main con, as I have been trying to get onto a cybersecurity project for over a year.

    Advice to Management

Be more responsive and respectful of people lower on the food chain (and actually respond to emails); maybe then the turnover rate won't be so high for people working more than 2-3 years.

    Pros

You own your own career and professional development. Great place to start your professional career. Deloitte really invest in developing people...not just lip service

    Cons

Politics.......politics....politics you have to get in with the right clique to advance......cut throat and back stabbing at all levels in oeder to succeed and get promoted.....experienced hires at a disadvantage, especially those hired at the Manager level

    Advice to Management

remove the subjectivity out of the performance review process. there stills seems to been an element of who you know and who your are connected to in order to be successfull

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent salary, great benefits, ability to travel and build travel points, impressive professional versatility.

    Cons

Unpredictable work projects - e.g. some engagements last weeks, or months; each employee is their own company (with their own brand etc) and greater emphasis is therefore placed on networking. If you're not good at networking, become an expert in a particular field or map out a systematic plan to network.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Benefits, very flexible at times, and lots of internal programs. If you are looking for predictably for a short to medium time frame (6-18 months), this is good place to decide if you want to stay in consulting or transition to something else. You will meet some good people.

    Cons

Many of the projects are staff augmentation, something Bearing Point (acquired by Deloitte) and Booze Allen used to have a large portion of the market. Deloitte is modifying their business model and hiring people for their Project Delivery Model (PDM) as they capture more work in this area. It quickly becomes very routine, and you find yourself taking on multiple projects or firm initiatives in order to standout among your peers. They also do not manage security clearances very well, often not relying on experienced hires who already have clearances rather then sponsoring employees without clearances already.

    Advice to Management

More fixed-firm-price contracts, with quicker turnaround times.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and extensive resources. the company invests a lot in staff development and training. Large client base that offers a wide range of consulting and career growth opportunities.

    Cons

Bureaucratic in all ascpects of the job. Expect to spend at least five hours a week on non client related activities.

    Advice to Management

This is an outstanding organization but can be even better if more emphasis is placed on finding ways to reduce turnover.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great junior practitioners from the best schools bring a great deal of experience and enthusiasm to the consulting environment. With the proper leadership and guidance they are capable of great things.

    Cons

No clear line of leadership or accountability of leadership to consulting professionals. Career success is entirely dependent on the individual network. One may work for partners that have no say and limited input into the professionals overall career status. Performance management is reduced to a blip on a scatter chart with no narrative on firm contributions, project roles, successes, etc. Utilization is the ultimate king.

    Pros

    Smart people, interesting projects, vacation

    Cons

Hours can be long, low salary and small raises (unless you are in the top 25%), no local office community

    Advice to Management

Start rewarding people for loyalty - an "average" (below top 25%) performer who is already underpaid should receive an annual raise that's more than a cost of living adjustment.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time

    Pros

Benefits plans are pretty competitive. Most senior mgmt is very open to networking and career building/mentoring. You can pretty much wake up and decide that you would like to try something new, even if that does not mean your day-to-day 'job,' as there is always something to get involved in

    Cons

Company is too big for it's own good. Bonus and rating system is a 'one size fits all' mentality when all of the functions, and even the same "job levels" vary greatly in responsibility and size in relation to the overall company

    Pros

I went to Deloitte Digital because I wanted to get exposed to diverse clients and projects and that's exactly what has happened. I strongly recommend working there, if you can get in. Great experience.

    Cons

You will be challenged, and it will make you a better professional.
