I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Management is great and extremely competent team atmosphere lives up to the company's reputation

    Cons

You must set your own boundaries. Work will consume you if you do not do so.

    Advice to Management

    More flexibility

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, pay, great coworkers, and a seemingly never ending wealth of knowledge. The managers are usually great, Deloitte seems to really care about you, and you are treated with respect.

    Cons

Sometimes there can be long hours and the firm expects you to contribute to pro-bono work on top of your normal hours. Can be a high stress environment (with high reward).

    Advice to Management

Rapidly develop a Federal expansion so that consultants are not limited to primarily Washington, DC.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Atmosphere and learning environment. There is always something going on and you’ll never go hungry. The new reorg could help

    Cons

If you don’t know how to build a network then you’ll fall behind. Your rating aka future is primarily dependent on your counselor and his/her reputation. Not analytically driven at all until you hit manager

    Advice to Management

End the pyramid model and let some young lead.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Deloitte offers a teamwork-oriented environment with some of the smartest people I've ever worked with. They value their culture strongly and make sure very voice is heard, and their training on how to deal with difficult clients, craft presentations and see the big picture set them apart from other firms.

    Cons

They don't always hold true to what they preach when it comes to staffing, at least in Federal. Many practitioners join consulting to experience different technologies and clients, and the firm says you'll be able to have mobility between clients, but ends up not letting you leave a client because you become "too valuable." Many people end up quitting the firm because of it. Also, despite preaching tech fluency, they don't allow practitioners to pursue training or certs in tech not related to their current project or an active proposal.

    Advice to Management

Develop a better strategy for Federal practitioners to move between projects by working with clients to let them know that despite some of their projects being long term, Deloitte has a culture of mobility.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Inclusive environment, opportunities to move around within the firm, mentorship culture. Will teach you a lot about professional development and networking

    Cons

Networking is everything within the firm. If you don’t have someone pulling for you in leadership you’re likely to get lost. Too much of a focus on utilization

    Advice to Management

    Be more meritocratic
