    Pros

    They do a lot for you as an employee. Lots of great perks for those who work very hard. If you like the taste of company koolaid you'll be in heaven.

    Cons

    Most people are great, but end up working for a bad egg and you will go down in flames. It only takes one partner to speak poorly about you to end your prospects of promotion.

    Pros

    From all the companies I have worked with Deloitte has the most focus on their people and developing their people into future leaders within the company.

    Cons

    Deloitte does have some heavy requirements on its employees to give back to the company in the area of business development and firm initiatives. This combined with a long commute in DC was not a good thing for me. However, Deloitte has realized a need for client focused work were you your entire time is dedicated at the client, the downside is that pay raises and promotions are not as frequent.

    Advice to Management

    We are expected to meet with our mentors within the company every two weeks to discuss issues and concerns from the employee side and the mentors can provide feedback back to us from talking with management. This allows for issues with behavior to be corrected immediately instead of someone being shocked at end of year. I like this approach and it should be kept up.

    The burnout is so, so real and often you never really see the tangible outcome/value of your work.

    Pros

    Deloitte has a great team environment, especially in the federal practice in Washington DC. I enjoy going to work in order to solve new challenges. The pay is lower but you get a friendly team environment, nice office space in a convenient location by the Rosslyn metro, lots of training opportunities, and the ability to move between projects so you can broaden your experience. In my 6 years at Deloitte, I've worked at Dept of Justice, Dept of State, and Dept of Defense. My average week is about 40 to 45 hours a week with only two or three times per year that I work a 12 hour day.

    Cons

    There is a significant pay difference between Deloitte Advisory employees and Deloitte Consulting employees at the same level doing the same job, at least on federal projects. The two work side-by-side on projects, almost interchangeably, and often have similar skillsets. As of mid-2018, a senior consultant in Advisory made 80k to 85k per year, while a senior consultant in Consulting made 95k to 100k per year. My recommendation is to apply for a Consulting position rather than an Advisory position, because of the better pay. Aside from the resume and pay, no one in Deloitte or on the client site will know whether you're in Advisory or Consulting.

    While improving, it is not enough to say you have a culture of work-life balance, you must live into it and set the example for your colleagues.

    Deloitte has endless opportunities to advance your career, learn new things, and get involved in mentorship/volunterism.

    Cons

    It's all about your network and who you know. If you are willing to work long-hours you can probably get paid/rewarded for it.

    Advice to Management

    The company is so large it's hard to make anyone feel like anything other than a number. Don't make senior staff counselors. They are too busy and basically worthless yet have such an impact in your career advancement.
