I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Wide range of opportunities, prestige, room for advancement, leadership generally open to change and responsive to criticism. Certainly no worse than any other large accounting firm, maybe better.

    Cons

Salary lags a bit and seems only to rise significantly if you threaten to leave or are brought on as an experienced hire. Despite the wide range of opportunities, it's easy to get stuck on a particular project.

    Advice to Management

Reduce turnover by increasing salaries. Student loan repayment assistance wouldn't hurt either.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are an enormous amount of resources at your disposal at Deloitte, from training at Deloitte University, to a huge network of some of the best and brightest in the world. Furthermore, Deloitte's alumni network is extremely far-reaching.

    Cons

While they preach "Work Life Balance", there is often a large demand for long work weeks, especially during busy season. This is not unusual for the Big 4, but it seems to burn a lot of people out. From what I saw, a lot of people, myself included, will work there for a handful of years to gain experience then move on to a job with a real work-life balance.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are a number of smart people that work at Deloitte. If you are on the right project, you can have a good work life balance and have the opportunity to do some interesting work. It would be a great job for someone right out of college. However, I am not. Very generous PTO policy.

    Cons

The infrastructure at Deloitte can be onerous at times . I had 20+ years of work experience before coming to Deloitte. I was hoping to work on more challenging projects, but this has not been the case. Your experience can vary based on the level you were hired in at at. Bonus structure is very weak. It has been a disappointing experience.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be better ways to utilize those in the Specialist Master roles. We are grouped with managers, but have more work experience. Nothing is focused on making life for the Specialist Master better.

Great work environment as well as work-life balance. There is much flexibility in being able to choose your projects and the career path you want to set within the firm. Benefits and work culture and the people are an added bonus as well.

    Cons

Depends on project and work location. Compensation lower than market.

"Great firm and best place to learn real consulting that involves both strategy and implementation"

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Firm focuses on having consultants not only work on strategy, but also, on implementation as well. At Deloitte, you will be working on both strategy and operations and you will be accountable and responsible for the recommendations that you give. I think in the long-term, the experience that you gain from doing both strategy and implementation is invaluable. This is a major difference when comparing to other firms such as McKinsey, Bain, or BCG where they try to separate people that work on strategy from operations.

    Cons

The firm is very large and the experience that you have can vary greatly depending on luck. Depending on what client projects are available, which senior managers need resources, and who you meet when you first join, it can either be an amazing experience or a negative one if unlucky.

    Advice to Management

The greatest advantage that Deloitte Consulting has is access to other branches of the firm and in having the same consultants work on both strategy and implementation so that they are able to learn from mistakes with higher stakes and develop into better professionals than at other firms that just focuses on strategy or implementation or tries to segment the two.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good Pay.
    Very Inclusive.
You can make a significant impact on almost every project regardless of your level or years at the firm.

    Cons

Feels as if the firm prioritizes firm initiative work at year end over client work. You can make a significant impact on your client engagement (what's making the firm money), yet it won't mean anything if you didn't recruit enough, or mentor enough, or lead BS workshops, etc. This seems backwards...
