I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A lot of training, They will pay for school and cert and etc. Great pyramid setup and you can easily talk to different higher ups. There is a pension after 3 years but the average turn over is 1.5 years. Makes most revenue out of the big four. Looks to be the number one in Cyber in consulting. Can move and try new projects and roles all the time.

    Cons

Benefits are really bad compare to other firms. 401K only gives you 25% of each percent you put up to 6%. So if you put 6, they give you 1.5%

I worked at Deloitte (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Yes, they had a solid benefit package...

    Cons

but don't you dare use the PTO because you will get slammed for it.

Your expected to work 40 billable hours week..sounds fair, right? To get you target you need to work 52x40=2080 hrs. Anything short and you 'fail to meet expectations'...so look at it..say you need 2 weeks away (80 hrs), that doesn't count as billable hours. you would then have to work 8 weeks at 50 hrs a week just to break even, and since you would be gone from the project for so long, a good chance you would be replaced and it would be incumbent on you to find another project so you could start making billable hours again.

That type of thinking permeates the entire company, at least in the DC area.

    Advice to Management

If they were listening, they wouldn't suffer the turn over they have.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great culture, team valued, progressive in thinking, thought leader

    Cons

Some areas of management are very hierarchical and make career progression difficult - highly dependent on the manager you work for and their management style.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great place to start out of college. A lot of motivated individuals.

    Cons

Unless you are gunning for a PPD position, this may not be the right place for type B individuals. A lot of strategy type work and deck building. Not for those who want to get hands on experience.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    1. I would put having Deloitte on your resume as a positive, but working for Deloitte will put an experienced hire back in their career.

    Cons

Summary: If you are an experienced hire stay away!

    1. No client work that represents actual job posting.
-I interviewed for a specialized role in the technology field and am an experienced hire. When I started to look for client work I talked to several partners about working in the role I was hired to do and I was told there was no work in this field. Right now on my client site they have me working on contract and requirements. This is no way to treat experienced hires. I have talked to several other experienced hires and they have all had the same experience. This seems like a trend.

    2. Firm Initiatives.
-Deloitte expects you to come after your long day of client work and participate in firm activities and do more work outside of the office on top of your 40+ week. Your client site might be an hour a half away from the Rosslyn office too.

    3. "Technology Group"
    - A lot of the people who are in the "technology group" do not know anything about technology.

    4. People think they are smarter than everyone.
-The things I have heard people say are so obnoxious. "You can tell who the Deloitte people are in the room", "That is the difference between hiring Deloitte and hiring a competitor", " he presents like a Deloitte person". Please, keep the obnoxious comments to yourself.

    Advice to Management

Treat experienced hires with respect and have them do the job they were hired to do!
