I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of benefits to include paying for certs, well being pay, and gift cards are rewards.

    Cons

Information regarding promotion and how pay is determined is kept hidden. Promotions are only give in August and when your raise is less than inflation they will say it is due to a level cap that doesn't exist. Also, your career is not in your nor your supervisors hands but is determined by a "coach" who may or may not care about you.

    Advice to Management

Be more open about the processes and allow people to drive their own careers with this knowledge. This should be part of in processing not something an employee should find out through the grapevine.

    Cons

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Plenty of opportunity to take on work and learn, access to tons of training (e.g. DU), fun and smart coworkers

    Cons

Unless you have a counselor that really is invested or a strong network in you it's very hard, if not impossible, to be rated well and be successful. There are tons of politics and games to play, and if you don't want to participate in that then this is not for you. Many times you are rated based simply on who you know not what you have contributed.

    Pros

inexperienced team members get exposed to many parts of project management

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

5 weeks PTO, 16 weeks family leave; opportunities for broad exposure; generally intelligent, considerate, and committed peers.

    Cons

    - Very much a "look at me" culture.
    - If you don't kiss up (*ahem* - "network/show your brand"), then no one at Senior Manager or Principal/Managing Director cares about you except as you affect their bottom line.
    - The combination of the two above results in some relatively incompetent self-promoters who promote quickly.
    - The firm considers "leadership" to be a combination of bringing in more money/managing more revenue with going through the motions of expected management practices.
    - Disingenuous salesman-y managers, senior managers, and principals/directors generally means unpleasant work for the people who actually have to do it.

    Advice to Management

Create more robust mechanisms for upward feedback.
