I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People! Cannot stress on this enough - right from day 1, you will hear everyone talk about how it is the people that make Deloitte what it is. It truly is that way. For an organization of this size, this is something remarkable. The people are a great, talented, diverse, and extremely smart group of individuals.

Culture and leadership opportunities: You truly own your career here. Yes, opportunities will be limited initially to dependent on business needs, and there will be days where what you do will seem dry, but if you stick it out, you sure will get great leadership opportunities.

    Cons

Work life balance - usual downside to any consulting job - high travel, with 4 day client site routines.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to start a career. If you can make it to upper levels of management (i.e. Partner, Managing Director), compensation is extremely high and the pension program takes care of you for life.

    Cons

Early on in your career, hours are very high and compensation is well below market value causing high rates of turnover

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Benefits, Flexibility, smart coworkers, challenging, and PTO benefits are awesome.

    Cons

Training from teams can be spotty as far as the quality and attention for you to succeed. The busy season hours can play a toll on family and personal life. You work at the pace of your team not at the pace of your personal style. The harder you work = the more work you get.

    Advice to Management

Strive to have lower staff evaluate and critique seniors and managers so that there is feedback from both sides.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - lots of global opportunities
    - decent pay and benefits
    - travel opportunities
    - there are some good leaders in the organization

    Cons

    - very poor management (specially from foreign hires)
    - no work life balance

    Advice to Management

Don't promote consultants to Managers/Sr Managers until they are capable and mature enough to manage people. Encourage managers to be upfront and set expectations correctly

    Pros

Control, freedom, and client access in a consultancy is way better than at an agency. No inherent hierarchy. Get to work in a wide rage of industries and technologies. Finally have job security.

    Cons

The work is only digital so I do miss more holistic brand projects. Working for Deloitte as a creative involves a lot of corporate weirdness and Senior Manageto are nightmares!!!

    Advice to Management

Stop underpaying the creatives compares to the other consultants!!!!!

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice brand to have on your resume

    Cons

The most horrendous place to work:
    - They have a “model” of how your career should look like - and any deviations are not tolerated (eg everyone is expected work and “detail review”.. only senior managers and above are given the resources and flexibility to do business development)
    - Raises are super low - top performers only get 6-7% in a “good year”. My current firm gives 8-10% for average performers.
    - People with terrible personalities are absolutely tolerated and loved. Managers and above who perform mediocre work and make people leave are much appreciated; staff complaints about these “managers” are never heard.
    - Upper management is too stacked up, so promotions are even slower - it used to take 2-3 years to make manager, now they have intentionally made it 3-4 years.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people.... get their honest feedback and work on improving your culture. Most of your people are only staying because of your brand, not because they like working there.
