I worked at Delphi Display Systems as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Talented, well-versed, industry veterans. Lots of knowledge here, all you have to do is ask questions and people are more than willing to schedule a time to sit with you or go out to lunch and discuss.

    Cons

Pay could be better, but hey, I was a summer intern.

    Advice to Management

Keep promoting cross-functional projects and learning among new employees.

I worked at Delphi Display Systems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

People who weren't managers or in offices were very nice. They are the ones who are keeping the company afloat despite the CEO's efforts to sink the company.

    Cons

Upper management does not know what they are doing. No one listens to the working peons about the issues with the products or the company. Products don't work or are constantly breaking. The have terrible customer service. They'll take the customer's money but leave them hi and dry when something goes wrong. Very unprofessional and very poorly run by an out of touch CEO. TERRIBLE benefits. Don't work here or work with this company. You'll soon regret that decision.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees but I don't think that would ever happen. Treat them fairly and have realistic expectations.

    Pros

Technology fun to work with, good environment and people.

    Cons

    very tight scheduling on projects

    Advice to Management

don't take shortcuts to meet scheduling, quality will suffer.

I worked at Delphi Display Systems full-time

    Pros

Employees are nice and the benefits are alright.

    Cons

Executives are moving the company in different directions to explore other market options; too many assumptions and unnecessary risks are being taken. It's a small company and news travels fast.

    Advice to Management

When an experimental venture into a different market doesn't work out (i.e. a poor investment), don't take it out on your employees and cut back their rate of pay or liquidate job positions.

I have been working at Delphi Display Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great basic product line with established customer base.
Fun people to work with in an overall family environment.
Dependable and reliable team/network from multiple departments to resolve issues.

    Cons

Focus on new product line with no involvement from customers or focus groups has slowed sales and driven customers to competitors.
Reduction in staff over last year due to lack of business and no potential for growth or salary increase.
    Company moral is very low.

    Advice to Management

Upper Level Management should open up to the ideas and suggested improvements from employees with years of experience in the industry when developing new products.

I worked at Delphi Display Systems full-time

    Pros

Compensated fairly and you get one week paid off between Christmas and New Years. Great employees to work with and everyone gets along very well.

    Cons

If you are laid off do not expect to return as they have never taken anyone back to my knowledge. Sadly it seems the company is on a downhill slide.

    Advice to Management

Consider you are too top heavy resulting in the lack of dollars.

    Pros

Good core product which was easily sold at trade shows and to new brands. Upward mobility is possible at the right time if your skills are in place and you know how to self-promote in order to get key decision makers in your corner.

    Cons

Friendly atmosphere when I first started, but a few rough months and questionable business choices led to an exodus of several key superstar players. I eventually left when a better offer was presented which Delphi was unwilling to match.

    Advice to Management

If you are selling the Cadillac in your field, don't try to look for cheap replacement parts (that failed more often than not) just to keep the costs down during rough times. This caused a lot of bad will with customers who jumped ship when other players entered the market niche you used to control.

I worked at Delphi Display Systems (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone was friendly and helpful. Got a change to use real equipment and learn more about engineering processes, was fun and useful.

    Cons

Sometimes there was little to no work to do, as I was only doing work experience this was expected. I was the only person doing work experience there, but everyone else was still friendly.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work in aspiring young people into engineering and thank you very much for the useful and interesting process. I would highly recommend people to try working here.
