    I worked at Delphi full-time

    Pros

    Easy to take time off.

    Cons

Extreme cost cutting measures to increase profitability. Without going into details, this includes pay reductions for everyone for 2017. Other divisions within Delphi are probably quite interesting, particularly groups related to autonomous driving.

I worked at Delphi full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, i.e. 401k and retirement contribution

    Cons

By the numbers head count, if revenues drop headcount drops regardless of employees contributions and job performance

    Advice to Management

Evaluate individual's performance rather than cut by the numbers

I worked at Delphi full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good place to work, lots of opportunity because the aging engineers there need a lot of help.

    Cons

Low pay. Managers are nice but very biased. Progress depends on who you know.

    Advice to Management

Directors and beyond come from engineering background, kind of pat-on-your-own-back type happy crowd, and love to accept awards for the work that was done by engineers reporting them. Most of them are biased and have very limited management skills. One way it is not bad though if you know how to swim in the pool. Do not expect mentoring.

    I worked at Delphi full-time

    Pros

As opposed to some of the small startups coming up in autonomous driving and connectivity space, Delphi is a very big, decades old automotive supplier. They are trying to establish/market themselves as an tech company after the spinoff announcement. There is some deep knowledge and expertise in several teams across the organization.

    Cons

This review is for their site in Silicon Valley - Mountain View, CA. Almost everyone who was working there for past couple of years have left this site due to multiple reasons. One common theme has been due to recent changes in local leadership and managers. People with no background (or competence) whatsoever in autonomous driving were brought in without proper process and have been put in decision making positions. Instead of integrating well with the delphi culture and focussing on learning and advancing projects, time and efforts are wasted on self-serving agenda items.
The review may appear to be of an isolated case of an disgruntled employee, but do your own research and the findings will amaze you.

    Advice to Management

Perhaps it's time for some shakeup. At what point do you take notice of the large employee exodus and address it appropriately?

Thank you for taking time to provide this feedback. Delphi cares about the experience of its employees.

I have been working at Delphi full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Delphi is expanding hiring in software engineering and entry level positions. Capitalizing on growth in Active Safety and autonomous driving.

    Cons

No growth opportunities in operations. Major shifts in footprint and company structure underway, creating a lot of uncertainty for employees on both sides of the spinoff.

    Advice to Management

Lack of operations leadership strength will drive continued execution struggles.
