I have been working at Delphi full-time

    Pros

Delphi has pretty good pay and interesting work. It is a good opportunity for this part of the country.

    Cons

As you go higher in the management chain, the more out of touch with reality they are. They won't think twice about using people to get what they want, take credit for your work, or intimmidate you into working crazy hours. They talk about excellence but don't walk the walk.

    Advice to Management

Hold yourselves to the same standards you expect of others. Be realistic about how much you can expect out of any one employee and insist that all pull their own weight. Reward performance rather than promoting your friends and those with the right demographics.

    Pros

Great co-workers. I really enjoyed working with the people at my site. They are very friendly and knowledgable.

    Cons

My manager always gave out conflicting instructions and caused terrible relationships with people inside and outside our department. It made my work experience very difficulty and stressful.

    Advice to Management

Select middle level manager carefully and improve performance evaluation process.

    Disapproves of CEO

    I worked at Delphi full-time

    Pros

Get some experience, and move on. Because it is so lean you can work on projects above your pay grade.

    Cons

I never saw anyone in their 20's in management and very few in their 30's. 15 years is a long time to wait your turn.

    Advice to Management

When you say 'share holder value' I don't think it has the same meaning for you and how the staff interprets it.

Easy to reach out to the management
Flexibility in selecting domains and knowledge expansion

    Cons

The appraisals were not done in a very fair manner.
The pay rise was kind of biased
the work becomes redundant after a few years

I have been working at Delphi full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great flexibility to work remotely. Lots of change to become an IT and not just an automotive company.

    Cons

Politics, politics, politics. I am a seasoned professional and have experience in very diverse areas and I have never seen an organization that spends so much energy on politics rather on delivery. Popularity contests are the status quo with the same people getting visibility and opportunities for growth (regardless of other people's skills).

    Advice to Management

Start learning about ALL of the people in the organization rather than the chosen few.
