I have been working at Delray Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good people, they try to make the best out of an understaffed situation.

    Cons

Understaffed, always has been, always will be.
They get by with spending the least amount of money possible. It's all about money!!

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff, you can't run a business without proper staffing and expect return customers.

I have been working at Delray Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Teaching Hospital that has a family atmosphere. It's an older hospital but it's in the process of being remodeled. I'm very happy here!

    Cons

Smaller hospital. Lots of remodeling underway. The average age of patient here are about 82 years old. Older equipment on the units.

I have been working at Delray Medical Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People are professional and work as a team. They truly care about patient care as opposed to patients just being a number.

    Cons

Not enough per diem people to cover shifts. When regular people have to continuously cover, leads to poor morale and burnout.

    Advice to Management

Hire per diems and train them when slow so they are properly trained when it gets busy.

I have been working at Delray Medical Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They have an amazing new grad nurse residency program and their pay is better than any other hospital in Palm Beach County.

They have seasonal influx of patients. Can get very hectic.

    Advice to Management

Lower staff to patient ratios on all floors/units would make a huge difference.
