    Pros

The benefits and the people. I am able to fly all over the world for free, throughout the Delta route system, which is great because I have family in three different countries. This alone is a very tangible benefit.

    Cons

It's a 24/7, 365 operation and things don't always go well, due to weather or other factors. You are expected to be available at all times of the day and night and only a few holidays are paid.

    Advice to Management

Don't talk down to your employees and remember that the sacrifices they are making are great -- share the wealth when things are good, don't just continually ask for us to give, give, give. AS Grinstein used to say, we can't cost cut our way to savings, we need to maximize revenue opportunities. Kudos for introducing a very good partnership with Amex for the Gold Delta Skymiles Card for marketing on board and at the gates.

    Pros

Schedules are very flexible. Easy job and lots of opportunity to make extra income

    Cons

The airlines are always unstable. Changes in work rules allow for almost no sick time

    Advice to Management

Take care of the people who have been with the company and are staying. Not just the top 20% and bottom 5%

    Pros

For The most part, once you do the work, they meaning management leave you alone

    Cons

Some of the people promoted to management have no business being there. They lack "people" skills. Some have no knowlegde of the department they're managing

    Advice to Management

Review your management team re people skills and job knowledge

    Pros

Travel benefits! You can go anywhere and see anything. Delta has also changed over the last several years. It's becoming more progressive and open-minded. A lot of consideration has been given to improving the workplace environment and creating a culture that gets us excited everyday.

    Cons

Pay would be the current major downside, however that's moving up in the right direction now that we have new, progressive leadership. The company also likes to reorganize the departments frequently; but hopefully that will calm down soon once the integration with Northwest is complete.

    Advice to Management

Our people are our most valuable asset; let's do everything possible to keep top talent.

    Pros

Very good to employees. Benefits align with industry norms. Salaries in represented groups are higher than non-represented groups, but that may be changing soon for non-represented groups.

    Cons

Very archaic when it comes to automation. For many years they have pursued technology but have rarely embraced it. Often they play follow-the-leader versus developing or implementing anything new.

    Advice to Management

Allow your front line people to treat their customers well. Get rid of all of the "after the event" critiques, and allow your front line people to do the right thing when it comes to handling irops, etc. Stop nickel and diming every customer. The revenue you generate is a short-term gain with a long-term negative impact on customer ratings.

    Pros

Delta is a great place to work due to the people and management are honest and trustworthy. The benefits are great and the travel is fun.

    Cons

The downside of working for any airline is the roller coaster ride of the aviation industry. As with any managers some are not the best but you have the opportunity to move around.

    Advice to Management

Senior management is doing a good job. They have led Delta through rough times and continue to make good progress to return the airline to profitability.

It has great pay, flexible hours, and plenty of programs to join outside of work. Not to mention having unlimited free flying benefits.

    Cons

It's hard to transfer to another city, and there are so many of us , getting promoted will take effort on your part, not theres

    Advice to Management

Come down to the different areas, concourses, etc and talk with some of the hourly employees out here and see how we feel about things.. It would mean alot more if we felt like you cared about us and what was goin on in operations
