I worked at Delta Career Education Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some of the people that work there outside of management are great to work with

    Cons

Charges $20000 for a certificate (no degree) program, only offers an Associates or certificate programs. Community Colleges charge a third for an AS degree than what is charged at Delta school. These schools are a fraud on the tax payers and they feed on those who cannot pay back student loans as they are not ready for college level classes. Delta's motto should be "As long at they can breath, they can attend our schools". Very poor management from CEO on down. They only care about money and not their employees or students.

    Advice to Management

Find a new career, you have ruined a very promising company by looking at the bottom of the poverty barrel for students who have no means of paying back student loans for $20000 program that is worthless.

I worked at Delta Career Education Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Only one, they did reimburse travel expenses quickly.

    Cons

First Con, no accountability for long time employees.
Second Con, CEO and HR will lie to you and violate their own policies which they expect you to know and follow in a Corporate Policy Manual.
Third Con, your colleagues will directly and continually lie to you. If they say they are "agile" and "lean" when it comes to programming and data resources, be sure to follow with a request to see examples. If they do not provide (because they cannot), then your choice on whether to stay.
Fourth Con, If they say they are running world-renown SQL Server maintenance scripts to keep databases maintained, ask to see the results of an execution count joined to execute procedure stats query, then your choice whether to stay.
Fifth Con, if they tell you they are running SQL Server 2005 or later, ask a follow-up concerning their running any feature of SQL Server introduced in 2005, 2008R2, 2012, 2014, or 2016. When they cannot specify, then you know they are limited to SQL Server 2000 and you decide. (the best wrapped present may still be an empty box).
Sixth Con, ask them if their database servers are up-to-date with patches and security CU's. Even Microsoft does not guarantee result set accuracy unless servers are up to date.
Last Con, you will want and need to watch your back at all times. If they deliberately restrict your communicating professionally with other colleagues on other teams, then you decide whether you want to stay.

    Advice to Management

Stop ripping Americans off and out of their educational dollars. Start creating real performance evaluations especially for any staff there longer than 3 years. Start some method to incentivize collaboration between teams. Stop lying and start looking at evidence.

I have been working at Delta Career Education Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Love my coworkers and wouldn't be here if it weren't for them. The students are pleasant to work with for the most part too. I do enjoy going to work each day.

    Cons

Centralized financial services caused the campus to lose a lot of good employees, and don't know what they are doing. Constant mistakes and people on the phones who don't know what they are talking about. If we didn't have great people at the campus, it would be a huge mess. Also, internal positions aren't posted, so we aren't made aware of them. Due to campuses closing, it would be nice to be aware of opportunities that are open.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, and replace a lot of your financial services team. I have caught many of the higher up people in financial services in large mistakes and had to correct them myself. People at corporate seem to be very unaware of what is going on at the campus, and don't care about the students.
