    Pros

You could get away with doing nothing fairly easily; many of the people were very nice; you could control who you hired in so that you had good people working for you. If you had the sense to be nice to people on other teams you could get things done pretty quickly and painlessly.

    Cons

Although most of the other leads were cool, not all of them were. Sometimes a bad lead got promoted and wrecked havoc. You just had to smile and deal with it. Sometimes the people over you were idiots and you had to deal with that too. You had to pretend that everyone was working hard when clearly very few were. Indians with thick accents were discriminated against.

    Advice to Management

Reward the nerds, cut the socialites or at least cut their pay. Pay more attention to the developers and be more careful rewarding business systems analysts. A lot of money is wasted there. My kid could do that job.
