I have been working at Deltak part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Really impressive, healthy culture. Unlike anything I have ever seen before.

    Cons

Some areas offer more potential for growth than others.

I worked at Deltak full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Benefits are good - health insurance, 401k matching, excellent PTO, flexible, etc. The people you work with are generally fun to be around and good at what they do.

    Cons

Taking a position in the marketing department is taking a step back in time about five years. The technology and innovation at Wiley isn't up with the times. The only way they will keep up to date is of Google forces them to do so by mandating updates, like mobile friendly sites. Good ideas by marketing staff are turned down by upper management because they don't have time to deal with them. A/B testing is frowned upon...

    Advice to Management

Loop in marketing team members when making decisions that affect their partners because a lot of times they know more about the nuances of the school. Stop turning down innovative ideas by marketing staff and start embracing positive change towards modernizing the marketing practices.

I have been working at Deltak full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-PTO: more days than you can possibly use. -Partner schools: Respected institutions -Top Level Leadership- they do seem to be very interested in you.

    Cons

-Marketing Leadership: While top level leaders seem to care, marketing leadership could take a training course on self-awareness, communication, and how to treat people. In terms of intelligence, I would put them in the middle of the pack with overall marketing. The company would be better if they went elsewhere. -Exodus: There have been a lot of really good, intelligent people that have left over the last year or two....

    Advice to Management

Look at marketing leadership. They aren't nice and care about themselves. Some marketing leadership has left, which is the right move but work still needs to be done.

I have been working at Deltak

    Pros

Great people, everyone is dedicated and works to move the company forward. Wonderful opportunties for growth. The company is expanding and promotes from within Cutting Edge - this is a group that strives to be one step ahead. Positive: everyone has something nice to say!

    Cons

Some egos from upper management. A few people are territorial and want to hold on to their position even though there might be others who could do the job better

    Advice to Management

Check out your rising stars and make sure to notice! It might be time to reorganize! There is so much growth that it might make sense to redo a couple of deparments

    I worked at Deltak

    Pros

Support time off if needed. Friendly people. Good benefits

    Cons

EGOS EGOS EGOS!!! Serioulsy, some of the upper brass, and those wishing to be, where just crazy about protecting their position and appearance. Horrible management in the marketing department. No real job description, but if you don't do what they are thinking in their head, then they get upset. Not a very empowering place to work, nor is it supportive in terms of direction.

    Advice to Management

Get organized. Try to figure out what you really need to get done and communicate.
