I have been working at Deltak

    Pros

Employees are treated very fairly with excellent pay and excellent work/life balance. Employees are expected to work hard and are able to play hard. Paid time off is generous and ability to adjust your schedule when needed is almost always available. Fun environment and casual but professional atmosphere.

    Cons

The company is growing rapidly so still figuring a few things out. Good part about this is they do seek and pay attention to feedback from employees.

I have been working at Deltak full-time

    Pros

    - Young, energetic, intelligent and professional employees. - Flexible schedules. - up to 24 PTO (plus holidays) off - strong salary and excellent insurance - unique growth options (admissions/sales into operations, HR, marketing, business/corp development, client outreach, media services, ID) - good middle management and excellent executive leadership

    Cons

    - Culture slowly from one of employee growth to fiscal growth focus, making it harder to buy into the job. It has caused recent turnover on the admissions and marketing teams. - The company has not been able to appropriately scale growth. Some of the goals across various departments have become nearly unachievable. - interview process is 4-7 interviews that can take 6 weeks to 4 months.

    Advice to Management

Be wary of the recent culture changes that have been made. We realize we are a for-profit company and Wiley needs to keep its stock price in the green, but you should never sacrifice company culture and employee morale to make a quarterly report briefly look better. Don't trade your long term company and employee development to exceed an immediate revenue goal. Doing so will result in further turnover.

I have been working at Deltak full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Amazing, talented people work here - 20+ PTO days per year based on tenure - Paid well for a sales job not based on commission

    Cons

The company has lost its identity during the acquisition. When I was hired in 2012 it was an amazing environment. The pay was average for the type of work being done but since then Deltak (now Wiley Education Service) has become a call center. With the implementation of a new Quality Day Score, there is a focus on dials and padding your day to meet unrealistic expectations as opposed to having a "quality" day as the...

    Advice to Management

You have amazing employee base. People that have lived Deltak's core values for 5+ years dread going to work now. You're focusing on all the wrong aspects of the work we do and ruining the company culture.

I worked at Deltak full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great employees who seem to love the job and growth available. Lots of room to advance. Flexible hours.

    Cons

Time off policies not as great as they once were. Employees come to work very sick to avoid using there PTO days.

    Advice to Management

Continue with great training to build strong employees.

I have been working at Deltak full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good culture and work environment, especially for working families. I feel I am paid slightly above average and enjoy what I do.

    Cons

Majority of middle management is coming in from the outside. Sold to Wiley 18 months ago and rapid growth is expected, now that certain policies and procedures are in place they are losing the culture they once regarded so highly. There are a few 'cancers' within the organization in Sr level management that continue to grow with no accountability.

    Advice to Management

Promote more from within and actually post job openings internally. Have a more unified and consistent training program for your rapidly growing sales staff.

I worked at Deltak full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Salary ranges good for recent college grads. Entry level sales job if you want a salary not a commission based position. If you can handle a daily grind of dial and dial more, you will like this job.

    Cons

Tied to desk and constant metrics shoved in your face. Admissions department has become very micro managed and there is not room for creativity. If you desire some more daily variety it is not for you.

    Advice to Management

Remember your roots that is what got you where you are but you are going to crash and burn the culture and lose what was once special.

I have been working at Deltak

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, desire to do the best for the students, realistic goals, supportive co-workers and management.

    Cons

Highly structured, metrics-based goals are something you have to be able to tolerate, but necessary to monitor the companies fast growth while maintaining quality, profitability, etc.

    Advice to Management

    Faster on-boarding for new employees.
