I worked at Deluxe Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits and pay. They allow working from home. Nice cafeteria. Very good medical, dental insurance and the price for it is excellent

    Cons

Micromanagement. They play favoritism a lot. The QA department is a disaster. Many of the contractor developers left the company because disappointed by the department.

I have been working at Deluxe Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great PTO package.
Pay is good in my area.
People are generally laid back and understanding.
Coworkers are generally nice to be around.

    Cons

    Company structure, specifically management.
Ego's run day to day decisions and that becomes a massive problem.
It's actually amazing how little accountability managers want to have, less they get fired. I've seen managers talk about things, one will ask the other a yes/no question and the other manager will just flat refuse to take a side on the issue for fear of the consequences. This rarely makes it below management but it's got to be killing the managers and will ultimately trickle down.

    Advice to Management

It's better to stand up to the people above you and look for a new job than it is to be spineless and shift blame constantly. That's the only advice I could give, if anyone bothered to do this it wouldn't take long to fix long standing issues.

I have been working at Deluxe Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

For the most part, good people who know what they're doing.

    Cons

Really top-heavy in management, Everyone's a VP of something. Not enough middle managers helping with the workload.
Honestly, too many application developer 'consultants'. Some of whom are less than adequate.

    Advice to Management

    Pay attention to workloads.

I worked at Deluxe Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay. Decent benefits. Some pockets of excellence. Trying to create an excellent culture. Generous work from home policy for some teams. I did get to do some good work here. It's not stressful at all.

    Cons

Not a lot of budget for innovation.

I worked with three different teams. One completely shut me out. One wanting to be accepting, but was still pretty difficult to work with (lots of young men making stupid comments, cancelled meetings, no direction for the product or ability to help set a road map). One was amazing, supportive, accepting, and excellent. Your success and happiness really depends on what team you land with.

    Advice to Management

Take those values you talk about and really hold people to them. Be aware that while you're working on diversity issues, there are still barriers to inclusivity.

I have been working at Deluxe Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They above minimum wage and offer other benefits like health insurance and my coworkers are a delight to work with.

    Cons

They are not interested in you advancing your career and there are limited opportunities. Hypocrisy is rife in Deluxe they preach communication but never listen. They preach a healthy lifestyle but do not provide healthy food options etc.

    Advice to Management

Try hiring from within and maybe listen to employee suggestions occasionally

I worked at Deluxe Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fairly flexible work schedule, however a work from home policy seems to be all over the board. Pay was about average for industry. Benefits were decent, however 401K doesn't match until after 1 year. In today's workplace that doesn't fly.

    Cons

Old HQ building in Shoreview. One building is decent for the big shots, and the other is stuck in 1980. Spend a little money and update your facilities. A little gross. Growth through acquisition, with zero planning. No budgets to integrate companies or technology until maybe a year after close? If at all. Very strange. Very conservative on spending any money for training. Health insurance was good, but premiums skyrocketed last 3 years.

    Advice to Management

Overall... decent. But not a lot of incentive to stay in today's job market. Update your buildings and facilities. How about an onsite health club?

I worked at Deluxe Corporation (Less than a year)

    Pros

Deluxe can be a fun place to work. The people you work with are marvelous and there is a family feeling after a while.

    Cons

It can also be stressful being on the telephone all the time except for breaks and lunch. It wears you out mentally.

    Advice to Management

If people were allowed a little more time off the phone it would sure help the employees regroup mentally and feel more valued.

Benefits, good co workers, decent pay for what we do.

    Cons

Short breaks two 15's so your always tired. Get ready to do the job of 3 people.

    Advice to Management

Don't talk down to grown adults. Give us longer breaks.
