    I worked at Deluxe Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great co-workers, benefits start almost immediately. Regular business hours. No nights or Sundays. Rotating Saturday shifts, about 1 per month.

    Cons

    High pressure sales. Deliberately setting sales goals so that a large percentage of reps won't meet minimums and company won't have to pay out commission. Micromanagement of your time, but that's the same as most call centers. Managers play favorites. Insurance co-pays and deductible went up this year.

    Advice to Management

    There's a reason why you're hemorrhaging people out of the business sales division. Pay everyone commission on what they sell. If you sell more, you make more, but drop these ridiculous quotas that reps have to meet before they make a penny on what they sold. We all know it's just because you don't want to pay commission in the first place.

    Pros

    I didn't enjoy the work, but the people there are really trying to make a terrible environment better. I hope they do it!

    Cons

    Deluxe is really a business first kind of environment, which makes it tough to work there. They focus less on the people and more on their bottom line. Definitely wouldn't recommend working here.

    Advice to Management

    I would definitely focus more on the people working at Deluxe than the business itself. The people make the business, but it's really hard to work in an environment where everyone hates their work and the upper management.

    Pros

    Good training. No cold calling, which was actually a great. If you're there are the right time moving up the ladder could be possible

    Cons

    Management is running this 1billion dollar company to the ground. The sales environment is extremely toxic and reps are always stealing leads from each other. That's nothing new and happens everywhere but the problem is that management seems to not care. They run this sales team the old-school way and will not adapt since the mangers have been there for many years. Salesforce support is also terrible. To finish it off all their marketing not solutions are a joke compared to other companies. Good luck having the designer, web developer, or fulfillment person process the order without any issues. The amount of things that go wrong after the sell is unbelievable so customer retention ( one of the most important factors in sales) is really low.

    Advice to Management

    A toxic sales environment will never allow your department to grow

    Pros

    Easy technical stuff, ability to throw on headphones and tune out everything around you

    Cons

    Struggling company, mgmt doesn't know a thing about your actual job, constant increases in responsibility without support or compensation, more and more focus on outsourcing, terrible benefits package, and the morale is so low that everybody in your department is trying to get everyone else in trouble constantly. the emotional climate is toxic and as time goes on, more and more negativity seeps in. pay is a good $10/hr lower than the starting pay for the same job within successful companies. also management and hr will not respond with even the slightest action over racism being reported.

    Advice to Management

    i have none. they know what's going on and like most people i think they're just waiting out a layoff.

    Pros

    Many of the employees are quite friendly and down-to-earth, and quite collaborative.

    Cons

    Much of their growth in recent years has been through acquisitions, but the backlog of IT work to be done to integrate all the systems is enormous, so getting anything new done is very difficult. The core of their business is declining (paper business products) which puts pressure on innovation, but funding for it is scarce.

    Advice to Management

    Pursue stronger strategic alignment among senior leadership about how innovative things will be funded.

    - Nice bonus pay outs

    Cons

    Can't really think of any, but we are a fiscally conservative company, meaning we run lean in our employee base. However, i see this as a Pro, as you get lots of cross functional exposure, learn a lot, and able to move up in the company. By us running lean, we are able to give raises and have strong bonus pay outs. However, some people don't like this kind of environment, so you have to really enjoy being busy in multiple projects and knowing how to multi task and prioritize to be successful here

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you are doing. Enjoy that the leaders sit with the business, they are not on corporate row. Keep being flexible

    Pros

    Fast paced environment offering multi - products and services in several markets. Success comes from many dedicated smart employees. A growth oriented 100 year old company is hard to find but this is one.

    Cons

    Cost cutting decisions can be made without full understanding of and planning for the implications of the change leading to stretched remaining resources and/or errors.

    Keep adding and improving leadership talent.

    Pros

    There is not much positive because they have no clue what they are doing. The benefits is semi good but it is expensive.

    Cons

    It is a white women's club and they make a lots of mistakes but still get to keep their jobs.

    Hire more men
