I worked at Deluxe Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fairly flexible work schedule, however a work from home policy seems to be all over the board. Pay was about average for industry. Benefits were decent, however 401K doesn't match until after 1 year. In today's workplace that doesn't fly.

    Cons

Old HQ building in Shoreview. One building is decent for the big shots, and the other is stuck in 1980. Spend a little money and update your facilities. A little gross. Growth through acquisition, with zero planning. No budgets to integrate companies or technology until maybe a year after close? If at all. Very strange. Very conservative on spending any money for training. Health insurance was good, but premiums skyrocketed last 3 years.

    Advice to Management

Overall... decent. But not a lot of incentive to stay in today's job market. Update your buildings and facilities. How about an onsite health club?

    Pros

People are great. Many are loyal Deluxers that have been with Theresa long time and are welcoming to new comers. The environment is fast paced.

    Cons

Leaders focus way too much time on the current finances instead of the companies strategic direction. Short term wins are highly rewarded and long term impacts are overlooked.

I worked at Deluxe Corporation (Less than a year)

    Pros

Deluxe can be a fun place to work. The people you work with are marvelous and there is a family feeling after a while.

    Cons

It can also be stressful being on the telephone all the time except for breaks and lunch. It wears you out mentally.

    Advice to Management

If people were allowed a little more time off the phone it would sure help the employees regroup mentally and feel more valued.

    Pros

Really good benefits, Rewards for 5s initiatives, General corporate concern.

    Cons

To many to mention, Dislocated management. To many Process changes, Long term employees who previously worked for NEBS are not particularly happy with the Deluxe culture or having trouble adapting.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Deluxe Corporation full-time

    Pros

Company clearly recognizes need to transform from declining check legacy, and has taken a great deal of action to do so. Financial strength allows flexibility to make smart investments and fuel acquisitions in the technology space. Relatively young leadership teams have the energy and passion to execute the transformation. A lot of outside talent has been added throughout organization to complement significant tenure of many employees. Friendly, genuine people throughout organization.

    Cons

Using acquisitions to transform can be challenging, as some will be hits and some misses. Company is becoming more mature handling each acquisition, but can still struggle with integrating sales and marketing functions.

    Advice to Management

Decision making that puts clients and employees ahead of shareholders will yield higher rewards for shareholders in the long term.
