I have been working at Deluxe Entertainment full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Office is in a nice area, good snacks are provided.

    Cons

Management makes it very clear you are the lowest priority. You will be set up to fail without adequate relevant training, and nothing is documented. Attrition rates are laughable as people burn out and move on. Direct supervisors are kept so busy with meetings and paperwork from higher up that there is no supervision or feedback. Being competent just results in more work.
Cliques exist. You will work in a crowded hallway surrounded by people loudly yelling to their friends, with freezing AC (supposedly because the computers are a more important resource than the people).

    Advice to Management

After layoffs, and during transitions to new workflows, cut people some slack if you want productivity from them.

I have been working at Deluxe Entertainment full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The name recognition is nice, and the clients are nice. Sometimes there is iced coffee. Mediocre bagels on Fridays.

    Cons

There is zero formal training for new employees. Employees are shuffled between departments when people leave and are expected to do multiple jobs for one paycheck. There is basically no oversight from management in the NY office because everyone in charge quit, so it's as loud as a high school cafeteria. Management is rude in their emails to employees. Hours are not consistent and you are expected to be there from 10-7 regardless of how much work there is to be done. The office is nice on the surface, but things are falling apart. I could go on forever...

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the NYC office. Realize that your employees cannot succeed without direction or training.

I worked at Deluxe Entertainment full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    *meet extraordinary people
*many opportunities to learn if you put yourself out there

    Cons

*internal promotion = paid less than industry standard
*no reward for being innovative or taking initiative (unless you count more work as reward)
*too many layers of upper management that don't understand the specific industries they're overseeing

    Advice to Management

Deluxe attracts people that enjoy a good challenge. However Deluxe does not value people that put in good work to overcome those challenges. Believe it or not you CAN be a profitable business AND take care of your employees.
