    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Demos as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good company culture and clear direction from the manager

    Cons

The job is not really challenging

    Advice to Management

I suggest the management level should communicate with other employees more often.

    Pros

I loved working with the customer, a lot of them were regulars. And the servers and staff are awesome.

    Cons

there are too many different managers and going to the wrong one can lead to misunderstandings and complications.

    Advice to Management

be on the same page about EVERYTHING.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Demos full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They will hire anyone who applies, they are not picky about who they hire - they really can't afford to be.

    Cons

Staff is treated really bad- cooks drink from the hand sink faucet because they are not allowed to get a drink of water when they are about to pass out from heat exhaustion- I quit because when I had a death in the family my set manager salary was docked when I took a couple of days to go to his funeral- the food is stuck in the 80's it's very consistent but consistently bad- the only restaurant around that still uses fake butter flavored oil on everything and imitation crabmeat- I worked there for a couple of months and lost 20 pounds because I never ate anything - the smell of there food made me literally vomit- and after working from 5:00 in the morning to 8:00 at night I was too tired to eat when I got home

    Advice to Management

My advice to the management is to go ahead and close your restaurants- the majority of your clientele is over 60 years old and in 20 years there will be no one left eating there

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

the people are friendly, the food is good. there are mostly bad things though.

    Cons

managers constantly talk down to employees. high turnover rate. un-organized management. clientele can be really rude & are taught that by management. say things like the customers don't have to be nice they just have to pay. you're replaceable. they never give their staff a pat on the back but are constantly micro-managing them. no real room for growth. management can never be criticized but staff are always told they are wrong for some asinine reason. etc

    Advice to Management

change the stuff that needs to be changed. pay your hosts a minimum wage instead of having servers tip them out & also perform host duties. lighten up. make your staff feel welcome and appreciated.

I worked at Demos full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Worked with great people with the exception of the regional managers.

    Cons

Way to many hours vs salary paid. The regional managers were rude and not willing to teach new managers.

    Advice to Management

Look at your management turn over rate. You will have to see there is a problem.

I worked at Demos as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Unparalleled access to executives, close mentorship, friendly environment. If you express interest in working on something they will probably put you on the job. Very open door policy, great learning curve.

    Cons

If you like being in a big firm, this is not the environment for you. You cannot fall through the cracks here, in other words, your work will be monitored.

I worked at Demos as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fantastic internship program which enhances the participants research skills and includes evaluations and assessments. I left with accreditation for all the publications I worked on. I would recommend.

    Cons

The only aspect of work with Demos that was less than ideal, is that they did not give pay at the time I worked for them (2012) only expenses.

I have been working at Demos as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

You can manage your ow time; wide variety of assignments; informal and easy going working environment

    Cons

Not always really organised; your satisfaction mainly depends by the degree of responsibility given to you by your Senior Associate...and with that also comes the nature of the assignment...
