I worked at Dentsply Sirona full-time

    Pros

Good benefits and good people to work with

    Cons

The company is going through a lot of pain right now after the merger of Dentsply to Sirona. It is not just the latest merger. The company grew through acquisitions before acquiring Sirona and the businesses were never merged. The pain is being felt now.
It will take a few years to pull out of this with sales being down and more cost cutting ahead.
Three CEOs in the past year. Many shuffles to the central management team. Lots of management issues.

    Advice to Management

Big changes need to be made with the business, but don't forget the people either. You have gotten rid of a lot of good managers that understood the business and cared about the people.
HR is very out of touch with the people. This is a problem from the very top of the HR organization in York and radiates out to the sites. Read the recent surveys, the 15,000+ employees do not feel cared for.
In order to get back to a growth company, the different segments of the company need to come together as one. This is the hardest task ahead!

    Cons

    Pros

    * Has been a stable company
    * Lots of opportunity for interesting work

    Cons

    * Politics everywhere
    * Friction to do everything

    Advice to Management

Learn to delegate authority. Either participate from York in a timely manner or get out of the way. This business will never compete with the friction you've added to making progress. Also, give people clearer accountability. The lines of authority being weak are encouraging political decision making, where the strength of connections drives who wins rather than the quality of ideas.

    Pros

    Great benefits
    Good products
    Good 401k

    Cons

I was in the implants division. This company couldn’t be run any worse than it has been. Leadership and management are a joke. The merger was an utter disaster. Good products but have no idea how to position them in the market place. They’re always playing from behind and reactive to what the leaders in industry are doing. Pay and commission have been restructured to benefit the company and not the employees due to their inability to budget and execute. Almost all of the reps are in happy and interviewing/looking for other opportunities. Mass exodus is inevitable.

    Advice to Management

    Clean house.

I have been working at Dentsply Sirona full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

They are finally waking up to the fact that they are not a cohesive corporation after the Sirona merger and are trying to get back to where it was before the merger. I think they'll get there eventually but it's going to get worse before it gets better.

    Cons

Unfortunately they seem to be taking the approach of death by a thousand cuts to resolve the problem right now. To save money and keep the stocks afloat, they're closing and combining divisions, getting rid of older or long time associates with the higher salaries and benefits and then hiring a bunch of low cost entry level or temp employees, in addition, they continue to overload people so they outright quit. What's next overseas outsourcing? I wouldn't be surprised

    Advice to Management

I wouldn't even know where to begin anymore.

    Pros

Fair pay, benefits, nice vacation package

    Cons

Supervisors do not care about your growth, success or training. Very little support or guidance. Unrealistic expectations. High turnover in lower level positions. Poor culture and values at the top causes negativity to trickle down to lower levels.

    Advice to Management

Strive for an environment that is welcoming and inclusive to all. Treat new employees like human beings. Provide training and support. Generally speaking care about people other than yourselves.
