I worked at Desert Regional Medical Center (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of training from professional Sonographers. Friendly team in Radiology.

    Cons

None other than it was a long drive from where I live. If you work grave yard the cafeteria is closed. As a student, you don't have access to open doors to different departments and courtyard to eat lunch.

I worked at Desert Regional Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A lot of good people to work with. Good training through Traumas.

    Cons

Management. Pay is junk even in a Union environment (Unless you're a RN in their union). Union does not exist physically, they do not represent nor do they support you. Dept is totally run on the fly. No organization. Equipment needs to be updated. Instrument Trays need to be re-evaluated and set up more realistically to today's procedures. A lot of potential but no initiative.
    Management does not support staff.

    Advice to Management

Start backing up the staff, look at ways to make the scheduling easier to accomplish by being proactive and not re-active.

    Pros

    It's a job
Benefits are ok, but not great
    Great colleagues

    Cons

    Work excessive hours
    Bullied by doctors
    Given false hope

    Advice to Management

Protect your employees from physicians. Stop promoting employees based on favoritism and do it on merit. This hospital makes tons of money for Tenet, they only care about money. Their 1 star CMS rating should say it all.
