I worked at Design Bridge for more than 3 years

    Pros

Benefits can be pretty good. Long Christmas break on top of your annual leave.

    Cons

A UK packaging company that DESPERATELY wants to appear as a branding company. EVEN MORE DESPERATELY wants to appear digitally savvy but in fact doesn’t have the credentials nor the finesse in this area! Could be political depending on which side of the fence and clique you are in. People are fake-friendly but not necessary have your back when you need them to! May not make the most ethical and right decisions!

    Advice to Management

Concentrate on what you do best instead of trying to be what you are NOT.

I have been working at Design Bridge full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Every project is a team effort with no egos looking to steal the show. Diverse projects with clients my parents have heard of! No week is ever the same. Socialising is actively encouraged and I have made friends for life since starting 3 years ago. Heavy emphasis on personal growth and plenty of opportunities to use intuition and instinct to have a go.

    Cons

If you are willing and able, there is a lot of work to go around. You won't get chance to feel bored. The talent here is another level and it is constantly a big learning curve - you have to be comfortable with not feeling like an expert and be flexible to approach.

    Advice to Management

Continue to hire people from multi-disciplinary backgrounds, as it makes for more interesting and creative teams. Giving people like me a chance.

I have been working at Design Bridge for more than 3 years

    Pros

Inspiring, resourceful, caring people Demanding but exciting clients: keeps the standards up! Some really nice briefs (not only from big clients) and room to take initiatives Management open to discussion, you just need to know who to talk to Great space in the office & around in Clerkenwell to spark creativity

    Cons

A lot of processes to digest - but part of an ISO procedure, you just have to play the game. We're a big agency, it can take time to our newbies to settle and enjoy.

    Advice to Management

Keep giving new challenges to everyone willing to. Not only designers need variety!

I worked at Design Bridge full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Has a good reputation and some good clients.

    Cons

Not a friendly environment to work in. Bad value for the client - and a lot of marketing waffle. Definitely a company on its way down than up. Teamwork and socials not a priority.

    Advice to Management

    Get a personality.

I worked at Design Bridge full-time

    Pros

Great working environment, good perks and there are opportunities to grow and change your role if you're willing to put the time and effort in, and be a bit entrepreneurial.

    Cons

Can seem cliquey because it's a big agency and it takes a while to settle in.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Design Bridge full-time for more than a year

    Pros

It's one of those monsters that look good on your CV but experience-wise is a very disappointing agency. They invest a lot in team-bonding activities pushing introverted people to neurotic break. Mentality - smile, smile, smile and do what we tell you because your ideas don't matter. If you do everything as they told and don't show any initiative you are going to sit there forever and be a director of something.

    Cons

Boring demotivating projects (to redesign another cigarette package, and another and another). A lot of % of all projects are from the tobacco industry which they don't even include in their portfolio. They try to be innovative and designy but it's an average boring agency which is doing packaging design. A+ students environment where everyone is competing with each other. Thinking outside of the box is encouraged...

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Design Bridge full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Free coffee and tea. Nice enough people. Nice location. Nice jobs. Free beer. If you play the game...you will win! Creative projects. Some creative people. Lots of people.

    Cons

You have to play the game. Cliquey. Fake nice. Rubbish reviews and bonuses. Arrogant. Long hours. Lots of egos. Way too political. Too many senior creatives on jobs. If you don't get on with the big cheeses you will not progress. Many uninspiring creative directors. Too many people who are institutionalised to Design Bridge. There's more to life than Clerkenwell.

    Advice to Management

Who's leading creatively? Why do you need a senior designer, design director, sometimes two, creative director, sometimes two and a chief creative officer on jobs?
