I worked at Design Cuisine full-time for less than a year

    Pros

They have a good reputation from clients, but not much else

    Cons

toxic work environment, the GM is horrible, overworked, underpaid, long hours and unrealistic expectations of their employees time that they should give to the company (24/7), lots of gossip and unfriendly staff

    Advice to Management

Kathy should quit - she is the cause of lots of staff that left the company. She doesn't care about employees and no one respects her. She takes more vacations than she actually works. I honestly don't know what positive traits she brings to the company and is the disease within the company

I have been working at Design Cuisine full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great learning opportunity if you are hungry and want to learn, but only if you are on the right team. Not every team works the same, and isn't treated or valued the same. Again, if on the right team, you get the opportunity to work at amazing venues in the DC Metro Area, and you learn a lot about the venues and rules associated with each venue. You build connections with local industry contacts. Design is a good stepping...

    Cons

Upper Management has no direction and doesnt know how to run the Sales Force at the company. Everyone is treated differently, with a lot of preferential treatment from CEO. Lack of marketing (sales tools), direction, and continuous pricing increased makes it difficult for sales, therefore, lack of sales. Which only means less money for the sales person, as it is a commission based position. Many senior staff have left...

    Advice to Management

Appreciate and invest in the people that work so hard for you. It takes money to make money, invest in your overall infrastructure and marketing tactics.

I have been working at Design Cuisine for less than a year

    Pros

It’s fast paced so time goes by quickly. There’s growth opportunities if you’re a hard worker. If you’re only temporary you can get part time if the scheduling manger is pleased with your work. It’s a very fun job.

    Cons

After an event you’re usually too tired to walk. Gossip is usually a problem so just keep everything to yourself.

    Advice to Management

Don’t gossip about employees to other employees.
