Pros

This would be a great company to do an internship as it offers an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the industry and offers lots of hands-on experience from the beginning. It also would not be a terrible place to cut your teeth and get your foot in the door. But to stay here long term would be brutal. The only way to even remotely make it through is the fact that your co-workers are nice and helpful.

Cons

If you are hoping to be able to make a living on whatever salary you bring in from your job, this is not the place for you. Designers and assistants both start out making well under 30K and benefits provided are minimal. You will be over-worked, underpaid and will hate your life (provided you still have one while working here). Opportunities for growth are slim. Though it is not that difficult to move from assistant to designer, it would take several years to become project manager and much MUCH longer (if ever) to become senior designer. You will do several repeat projects meaning they will all look essentially the same. The senior designers offer little to no guidance because they are too busy to help and they also only work half days. You will leave the company doubting your self and your ability to design. They are masters at compartmentalizing employees so that their skill-set is limited, making it hard to leave and find a job elsewhere. Believe me, I've been looking. I feel trapped here. My advice...run while you still can! There are so many other opportunities out there that are far better than this. DO THAT!!!

Pros

Designers are given a lot of opportunities and jobs to manage- great people to work with- good out of school opportunity

Cons

Management doesn’t have time to train and lead- a lot of petty drama throughout office- favoritism plays more of a role in delegating jobs than actual ability or talent- heavy work loads and one must sacrifice healthy work life balance to succeed- overall dishonest management
