I worked at Detroit Medical Center full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Large hospital system to network/transfer Medical/vision/dental benefits were great CTO was great for me because I was grandfathered in to DMC's previous plan before Vanguard and then Tenet took over

    Cons

Departmental heads did not listen to lower level staff's opinions/suggestions for improvement Due to Tenet taking over, some of the "good" that made DMC the family environment it was...was taken away.

    Advice to Management

Please consider all (visitors, patients, staff, and vendors) opinions for improvement Please value all levels of nursing as they are very helpful and proven in other health systems (medical assistants, PCAs, nursing students, LPNs, RNs (ADNs and BSNs). There is no reason why an employee of 5+ years should leave for another health system because they are bridging through their nursing career.
