I have been working at Deutsche Bank full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The bank cares for its employees, which can be seen by the policies implemented for employee benefit. The environment is chilled out and you arnt scorned for asking any obvious questions. Transport facility saves travel stress and conveyance. Salary is above average compared to local competitors.

    Cons

The company being top heavy, one needs to have patience to get promotions. 2 years is average tenure after which you get promoted.
Less visibility of how your work helps the company's top line or bottom line , thus affecting your motivation to work.

    Advice to Management

Promote internal transfers to keep employees involved and help them gain diverse skills

    Pros

Good managers that give adequate space and freedom to complete projects. This allows for more creative and long term solutions

    Cons

High attrition makes for a stressful situation, were people constantly inherit new work from other people who are leaving. This results in more people leaving.

I have been working at Deutsche Bank full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    People! People, People!
In my two and a half decade long career I've come across many huge companies as a consultant, of course, and would never choose to join. This on is different. The people here, each and every one, are just down to the ground decent human beings.
The company takes care of it own.
This is one of those families one normally never leaves.

    Cons

A long, hard, unforgiving stream of bad luck, fines and repetitional damage. And for our industry reputation is everything.
Also, despite the fact that all of us are great people we tend to collectively cause each-other unnecessary grief.
The upper management has a clear understanding and viable vision to what needs to be done to right the ship.
The contributing mice are all experts in their respective domains.
Nevertheless, top to bottom, the message is often lost or distorted in transaction or propagation.
The overall culture is healthy but the middle-tier mentality is archaic.
The core values campaign in well put together and slowly produces results - keyword is slowly.

    Advice to Management

    1. Gut your middle-management!
    2. A good general business manager will not always produce good results, especially in IT. For IT - hire from successful IT and preferably not from banking.
    3. Same training for everyone is a waste of time and money. Leave core values and some regulatory training as is. Drop all else for IT and produce IT specific training.
    4. IT is your greatest loss - treat it as a separate industry / company.
