I have been working at Deutsche Bank full-time

    Pros

    - They used to hire great people.

    Cons

    - Now they treat them badly. There is no incentive. The board is high up trying to boost share price, makings things right. But they forget that people is important.

    - Too much politics.

    - Management team doesn't understand technology, hence they could only accept what's been presented. The technology and system development is lack of strategic planning, costly and inefficient.

    - No pay increase without a promotion. No bonus. Much more difficult to get a promotion.

    Advice to Management

The high cost-income ratio has a lot to do with lack of firmed & clear strategy planning, lack of understanding and insight on technology, and ignorance on managing down internal politics. You are on track of not investing in technology smartly.

    Positive Outlook

    Pros

Great Culture, good people who are loyal to the company for a long period of time. Not much pros since they have removed "passion to perform" as their slogan and have tight budget cuts.

    Cons

Terrible management and poor selection of managers (inexperienced ones yes). Not forgiving when it comes to retrenchment and changes (don't expect a large golden package).
