    Pros

    Great company atmosphere, busy and challenging environment. Pay is very competitive and bonuses are paid in the Spring. Company has a focus and direction which they communicate to their employees.

    Cons

    Typically too busy to engage in industry events. Too busy in general to take your time handling your day to day tasks. Some people got promoted because how many hours they put in vs. whether they really belong in that position.

    Advice to Management

    Provide more time and funds to send employees to industry/training events.

    Great company to work for to learn about the business

    Cons

    Bad advancement opportunity in the company. You will be stuck doing a meaningless job for years.

    Advice to Management

    Look at see which departments are carrying the company. I seen interns come in and in six months they are promoted while the supervisors who been there for years are stuck getting the short end of the stick.

    If you work hard you will enjoy working for DHL. Good Company with good people. Also has good benefits and the company values their employees.

    Current market situation not favorable for all divisions.

    lack of sabbatical offering for USA based employees

    try to incorporate some benefits that are given to European or Canadian employees for the USA based employees eg longer maternity leave, sabbaticals

    Pros

    With imports/exports with 220+ countries, DHL offers great exposure to diversity in culture, people and global business; that exposure produces an incredibly wide network of colleagues and friends.

    Cons

    Although DPDHL has made a considerable effort in immersing US/American employees into that global exposure, a much greater effort is required to maintain DHL's position at the top of global supply chain & logistics providers.

    Advice to Management

    My advice is to rotate most or all of US management at all levels with short, medium and long term stints abroad and to pair those rotations with extension training in global business. Also, provide all employees and their families with the opportunity to learn another language and use that language in a company sponsored exchange program. Unlocking DHL's value as a leader/advisor in global business has enormous potential for DPDHL's value.
