I worked at Dewberry full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Honestly........... I can't think of one.

    Cons

This company has some serious issues. If you are not located at their headquarter office, they have NO idea what is going on at your location and offer zero assistance.

Their Houston location has some serious upper management problems. They are verbally abusive to their employees. If someone messes up (or even looks at them in a way they don't like), they scream, yell obscenities, and degrade them.

I have discussed this issue with their HR department at their headquarters, but nothing was done.

Their president will come in every now and then to "check on things" and the upper management puts on their best face and pretends everything is just peachy. Then when he leaves, it's back to yelling and misery.

    run while you can.

    Advice to Management

    see above please.

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere for the most part. The company supports personal goals as well as career oriented goals as well. The company encourages "on-demand learning" to all employees.

    Cons

No career advancements, no major pay increase, no sense of purpose if there isn't a next level to reach. Flexibility is okay, but it's not the same for everyone. Working from anywhere (specifically home) is definitely a concept being applied throughout many companies and or organizations are the United States.

    Advice to Management

A good read would be the Future Workplace Experience: 10 Rules for Mastering Disruption in Recruiting and Engaging Employees, by Jeanne C. Meister and Kevin J. Mulcahy. As millennials start to dominate the workplace the culture will have to change or recruiting the top talent will inevitably decrease because the company is stuck in their old ways. Flexibility and career advancement are two vital aspects to any company thriving but as times change so will the culture of the company.

Great people, great resources at Fairfax office especially. Almost every A/E discipline is represented at that office. Great projects, especially with Dewberry's reputation. Great place to learn and management advancement is possible

    Cons

Sometimes the many divisions and departments don't work together as smoothly as possible, but it is an area they constatnly try to improve.

    Advice to Management

Assist with career paths. For those employees willing, push them politely into areas where they can grow and get more diverse experience.
