Pros
Great people who really care about this work! Dexis definitely invests in the professional development of its staff and their growth.
Cons
Staff are generally overworked, and Dexis is very slow to hire on new folks to help shoulder the load. Pay is fine, but very difficult to achieve pay growth as you move up internally; better to leave, then come back as an external hire. As Dexis has transitioned from a small business to large business, it has become less agile and slowed down by numerous and at-times conflicting internal processes.

Pros
A very exciting company with great synergy, trust, and communication between employees across all levels and departments. Dexis commits itself to supporting each individual employee's professional growth through providing professional development funds and almost endless opportunities to learn and apply new skills. By investing in each individual, the company overall keeps growing by leaps and bounds.
Cons
As is common in this industry, and with a company experiencing such fast growth, there can be long hours and frustration as policies catch up to company size. Space is also an issue with staff in two different buildings. But management has demonstrated its commitment to addressing these challenges and I have every confidence they will improve.

Pros
Dexis’ values are key to the success on creating a wonderful work environment.
Cons
A lot of workload, but Management is taking actions to fix it.

Pros
The people at Dexis are great. Folks are incredibly committed to what they do. And given the breadth and depth of our projects, are a really interesting group of people who have been all over the world doing amazing things. Performance is rewarded, professional development is supported, and mixing work and fun is encouraged. Hard work is the status quo.
Cons
Dexis is a growing, entrepreneurial company. Its culture doesn't always align with that of our government clients. Navigating the differences can be frustrating for project staff, since the company’s ideals don’t match their day-to-day reality. Expectations about the pace and unglamorous nature of our work have not always been clearly communicated to new hires.

Dexis prides itself on its entrepreneurial spirit and fostering an environment of ingenuity. And yes, part of the work is downright unglamorous. Communicating these expectations are something we can be sure to better incorporate into our interviewing process. We want to make sure all potential staff understand our core values of Ingenuity, Integrity, and Investment in People. Thank you for the positive feedback about our ability to adapt to the growth trajectory. It's the amazing and talented staff that is making it all possible.

Pros
Dexis is a great place to work. The people here, work hard and play hard. The diversity in the company is the biggest win win for an organization to bring people together with the same desire to help others nationally and internationally. A background in International studies is desired here at Dexis. I have met some of the most intelligent, energetic and enthusiastic people by working for Dexis. The drive to succeed is contagious here at Dexis. I would recommend Dexis to the elite. You must have a positive attitude and be able to be flexible and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done and perform at the highest level of morality and possess a particular system of values and principles of conduct.
Cons
Compensation is not to my standard, based on education and work experience for the positions and especially the cost of living in the DC and Virginia area.

As you may know, our VP of HR (who joined around the time you posted) rolled out a compensation banding policy earlier in early 2016 with support from some of the leading compensation consultants in the industry. We bench-marked against the top 3 established firms in the business (our VP HR is from one of these firms, as an aside). We've received kudos on compensation policy since then, and I am hoping that you share this view. If you get a chance, please update your view -- even if we have gone from bad to worse. Thanks for your honest feedback. It means a lot - Mihir Desai, CEO

Pros
Dexis generally has a really positive working environment. Part of that is due to the company's success over the past year. More than that, though, the leadership team actively nurtures a positive learning environment for staff. Of all the places I've worked, I have never had so much faith in senior management as I do at Dexis. Add a crop of knowledgeable, friendly colleagues and a competitive salary to that mix, and it's a solid place to work.
Cons
With tremendous growth comes an acute need to scale up staffing and systems. There has been some stress on a general level of being able to keep up with the volume of work. That stress has manifested itself in some long hours and the recognition that the company needs to develop, discard, and/or consolidate systems. Fortunately that growth continues - as well as the stresses that come with it. Concerted efforts continue at the leadership and division levels to staff up and develop systems, but managing the growth remains a challenge.

Pros
No place is perfect, but Dexis is as close as it gets in this industry. There is always laughter echoing which is reflective of the culture. The company is extremely mindful of this culture and want to make sure Dexis hire the right people. This has kept the culture intact despite rapid growth. It is an exciting place to work where every day is different and people work on anything from New Business, Project Management, and Technical work.
Cons
The workload is extremely high due to the rapid growth. Dexis is struggling to keep up with growth in terms of space and hiring. There needs to be much better integration between project and HQ staff.

Pros
Dexis Consulting is a great place to work. They truly listen to employees and look for ways to improve.
Cons
Look for ways to offer contractors more opportunities for direct hire positions with Dexis.

Pros
Several advantages of working for this mid-size consulting company that focuses primarily on professional services and implementation work in the international development sector. The Dexis project managers are receptive to employees feedback/concerns and do not micro-manage compared with other USAID contractors. Salary and professional development funds very competitive depending on the contract.
Cons
Still contracting work in a federal agency, which can make you feel like a second-class employee, but with higher stakes to perform.

Pros
(i) Dexis Program Managers are very supportive and open to any initiatives from Contractors. (ii)Dexis have excellent relationship with US State Department and this allows an easy interaction with their agencies as clients. As far as the US State Dpt have a good perception about Dexis it is easy to find good information and to produce reliable and good quality reports
Cons
One of their strenghts could be a weakness for some contractors. They give you a lot of freedom to make your own job and this could be difficult for people that requires constant surveillance, or for people that are waiting for the last minute to present their products. It could affect the results as a team. But they have the ability to make changes along the way.
