I worked at Dexter Axle full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the people were great. Solid company with a bright future. State of the art manufacturing equipment. Good pay and benefits.

    Cons

Some of the most arrogant people I have ever encountered. Poor leadership in some key areas. Too much mandatory overtime.

    Advice to Management

Stop talking down to your employees. They're not children.

I have been working at Dexter Axle full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Weekly pay is nice
    Decent Benefits
    Fast Paced Environment

    Cons

Management does not listen when problems are expressed
    No communication between shifts
I was given a bid to move to a different building and told that I would be moved when I was replaced. I have seen no bid sheets looking to move anyone to my job, nor have I seen new people come in to be trained on my job because the Plant President decided that first and second shifts were priority and ignoring third was the best way to go.
Not enabled to do my job to my fullest potential.

    Advice to Management

Listen to what your workers say when they come to you through correct channels.
Enable your workers to do the best they can.
    Require teamwork between shifts.

I have been working at Dexter Axle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Pretty easy to get hired.

    Cons

The pay is poor and you are maxed out very quickly at a low rate.
They treat you like a child instead of an adult who is being paid to work.
Retaliation rates are high if you are not in the inner circle.
Discrimination is rampant in El Reno location.
Management has little working knowledge of things. Instead of working to make the environment better or help the employees, they are always looking for ways to belittle and keep you under their thumb.
Management creates stress when there is none.
Lack of proper processes and procedures that are helpful to being efficient and productive.
Points system is ridiculous when there is no time allotted for sick time, etc.

    Advice to Management

Hire supervisors and managers who understand the areas they are managing.
Create a review system for supervisors that employees fill out and hold them accountable.
    Take employees input seriously.
    Implement sick time
Get rid of the ridiculous point system and immature rules
    Increase pay
    Increase vacation
Decrease the good ol' boy system.

I have been working at Dexter Axle full-time

    Pros

It's a job and pays decent. They will give you a shot at work if you have a past, but will treat you bad because they know that.

    Cons

This company is stuck in the 1950's and treats it's employees like slave labor almost. They don't have sick time and are very strict with the employees on their time. However, they don't always stick to the work hours, but want to penalize you if you are late or need to leave before they say, even if it is after the agreed upon work hours. It is almost like a grade school. They don't want you to go to your car on break and watch you like a hawk. They pay is average and they only have bonus for a few people. The environment is very high school-ish. They need to increase the pay and do away with a LOT of the micro-managing that they do. In addition, you wait a whole year to get ONE week of vacation and don't get another until 3 years later. The pay at another location in another state is significantly higher for the same position. They cannot keep good employees because of their "rules". It is not a fun place to work, but it's work.

    Advice to Management

Higher Pay, Promote from within, Increase vacation, Add sick time--nobody is NEVER sick, be less rigid with time, Give bonuses to EVERYONE -- we all work hard. Diversity in management and not just lower wage employees!! Need air conditioning and heat in some parts of the warehouse so that people aren't getting heat stroke, etc. Get into the 21st century with how you treat employees. Use technology better to make the jobs more efficient Appreciation of employees would be nice!!!
