I worked at Dexter Magnetic Technologies as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Besides the fact that this place has a great Engineering team, it also is at the center of just about every industry when it comes to magnetic expertise.

    Cons

I guess this is partially true for a great many companies, since the banks risked it all and blew the world economy, Things are tight at Ol' Dextermag, so if you want to just glide by and do the minimum, then look elsewhere because they don't have room for fat. Is this really a con? It kind of gets into a debate of politics and human nature it would seem, so I'll leave that to you, the reader.

    Advice to Management

Take a good look at your engineering team because you have some great engineers there that I would take a pay cut to keep happy. I'm not saying the are not happy now.

I worked at Dexter Magnetic Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great pay and friendly staff

    Cons

Excessive work load with inadequate training

    Advice to Management

    1. AS9100 compliance can be maintained by managing a small set of rules which will reduce staff work load. 2. Provide adequate training when expecting staff to utilized MRP system for product purchasing, machining, inspection and shipping. 3. Provide support staff to assist engineering with day to day follow up on purchasing, internal and external parts fabricating, inspection and shipping.

I have been working at Dexter Magnetic Technologies full-time

    Pros

Annual reviews keep me on track and it is good to be a member of a team.
The company and environment are very fast-paced.
The industry is very interesting and the knowledge gained cannot be taught at university.

    Cons

Projects take a lot of time. With every project being different, they demand attention and can sometimes last a long time.
