    Pros

A phenomenal set of brands, smart and motivated people and a whole heap of benefits in a great industry

    Cons

Sometimes complicated, a bit too collaborative and occasionally a little bit corporate... but you do feel like you can change these things yourself

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Diageo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great brands to work with. Flexible ways of working. A lot of attention on the role if you are within the London region

    Cons

Work life balance. Pre-historic ways of thinking. Not very competitive vs competition in every sense of the word; to salary and what we can offer to accounts

I have been working at Diageo full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great heritage and brands. Builds a lot on the culture and values on the previous leadership.

    Cons

Leadership doesn't know what is going happening in lower levels and so no understanding of the impact of reorgs (every two years). Lack of ownership and accountability by them to make difficult decisions. Instead of holding the relevant people to account they might just buy a new technology or migrate with the bad processes in place.

    Advice to Management

Take accountability and make the decisions that are needed by understanding the processes and Planning is KING! Put the effort in.

I have been working at Diageo full-time

    Pros

Great brands and heritage, some great people still left. Strategy is good, it's implementation is shaky.

    Cons

    No career progression in some departments;

Mid management is doing what they want.

    Constant reorganizations. Diageo makes every effort to lay people off in the cheapest manner possible;

Pay against the market, salary increases are often minimal. If there is no budget, performance review is in line with a budget.

    Advice to Management

Do something about mid management because a head doesn't know what the tail is doing. Strengthen HR that they wouldn't be afraid to act if they receive a speak up. Grow young talents in all functions instead of playing with them during reorganizations in order to protect mid level management.

I have been working at Diageo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible working, generally very bright and pleasant colleagues, good people policies and procedures

    Cons

Skittish management. The productivity agenda is mercinary, with consultants who aren't always very good. One re-org is just about recovered from and a new one is announced. It's like the forth bridge.
Quite a big disparity in people managers. If you get a good one it's amazing. If you get a poor one they often hide it well.

    Advice to Management

Think longer term. Play the long game, with people, projects and budgets. Treat staff better. Finalise re-orgs quickly. Rip off the band aid as the waiting is killing people with stress.

I have been working at Diageo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great brands, really bright people, location, work - life balance, freedom to succeed, global presence

    Cons

Re-org every two years makes people feel insecure, frustrated and therefore they don't focus on doing the best at work; desicion - making process is extremely slow; senior leaders don't take ownership for decisions; progression is subjective; very relationship - oriented culture. It is less about how good you are and more who you know and how great you are at talking

    Advice to Management

Let people work don't distract them with re-org every other year.
