Friendly People, poor Work-Life Balance
Jul 7, 2022 - Software EngineerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Opportunity to learn new things - Friendly people - Decent benefits
Cons
- You have to track time, which isn't really a bad thing, except when it comes with the rigidity of the items mentioned below. - The expectation is to work 40 billable hours a week (which means internal company meetings, times you are asked to interview candidates, participating in learning sessions for technical disciplines, one-on-ones with your manager, etc, are above and beyond that). The assumption seems to be that you will be working more than a 40 hour week on average. - The Responsible PTO they offer is not normal PTO. The expectation is that you will only request PTO for large quantities (1+ days of PTO). Small times out of the office (for appointments, etc), are expected to be made up in longer future work-days or work-weeks.

Great People and Life Balance but Low Pay
Dec 15, 2021 - Senior Software Engineer in Dallas, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The people are awesome to work with. Tons of room to grow your skills or pick up something new. Everyone is willing and eager to help anyone else. Plenty of opportunity to take ownership of parts of the project. Feel respected and trusted to do well.
Cons
The pay is below market and not competitive, although management has done some research into this. I think this is reflective in how my co-workers and friends in the DFW area are getting offers for 40-50% more than Dialexa is paying. One reason for this gap is that Dialexa does not have pay bands any more; they have equitable pay based on position. This means anyone who is a, let's say, Associate level 2 will make the same amount as any other Associate Level 2; there is little to no room for negotiation here. Your pay is your pay, and you have to hope that Dialexa offers a "market adjustment" to, at the very least, match yearly inflation. Otherwise, you're effectively making less than the year before. Also, the pay bump between levels is relatively small (~6%). To that point, even if you go up in level one year, that increase in salary starts to be eaten up by inflation. In the end, despite the great work environment (yes, it truly is a fun, energetic, and happy place to work), it becomes hard to not look at what other companies are offering their engineers and think "Why aren't I making anything near that with the great work I know I do?"
Continue readingThank you for your feedback. We agree. We love our culture and pride ourselves on our positive workplace. We continuously evaluate market salaries to remain competitive. We would love the opportunity to discuss. Please reach out to Stephanie.

Fantastic company with great growth opportunities
May 23, 2022 - Software Quality Engineer, ManagerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Dialexa is a great teaching/learning environment. We have a culture that applauds the sharing of knowledge and taking risks that could strengthen the company and your own career growth. Great place to work.
Cons
The only con for me is that in the willingness of the company to support you and provide opportunities for growth, you have to be careful to not overextend yourself. The company does not push extra work, but it is easy to get overloaded if you tend to want to grow in everything all at once!

Great Company, Great People, Great Culture
Apr 22, 2022 - Anonymous Employee in Dallas, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Dialexa is an excellent company filled with incredibly bright, hardworking people who really care about each other. The company culture is unmatched. We have been growing very fast over the past several years which has created great opportunities for everyone. The company isn't perfect but they listen, learn and are committed to being better than they were yesterday.
Cons
Growth is hard and puts a strain on everyone, but I'll take that over the alternative any day.

My favorite place I have worked
Apr 1, 2022 - Associate Software Engineer in Dallas, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great people and fun culture. I love the company wide quarterly outings, monthly happy hours, Spirit Week, the Annual Thanksgiving Potluck and the Holiday Party. The Mentorship and Innovate Programs are a great way to learn something new. I love that everyone is really supportive of each other and people spend time with each other outside of work.
Cons
Sometimes you get staffed on a project you don't like and there's nothing you can do about it.

Pros
Fantastic people to work with that are passionate about what they do and are very personable! The working environment is dynamic and flexible.
Cons
The onboarding process could be made a little smoother
- Current Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Talented, humble people that work hard, play hard, and are committed not only doing great work but also supporting each other in the process. People genuinely care for each other and want to see each others succeed. Leadership is transparent and listens to employee concerns. Did I mention that this place is fun?
Cons
Growing pains from an incredible amount of growth last year, but I'm inspired by the effort to maintain the culture and the care displayed by all employees.
