I have been working at Dialog Semiconductor (More than a year)

    Pros

It is an international company with high-quality engineers and culture.

    Cons

Salaries are not that high except for project managers.

    Pros

The cakes are nice. The people are OK too.

    Cons

For a Digital Design/Verification Engineer, it's a career graveyard. I2C is as complicated as it gets. They don't do specs, so the verification is largely made up. If you stay here too long, you will probably retire here, as you will be unemployable anywhere else.

    Advice to Management

Wake up!. Apple won't last forever. After the Apple gravy train ends, the real world won't do you any favours.

I worked at Dialog Semiconductor full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good trainings, internal and external.
    Good people overall
    Good CAD tools flow

    Cons

It has hard IP and Product Group division
Product group is verification group it's not good for experienced professionals.
Very limited new design in IP group done by old engineers rest people just support verification.

Dialog has a YSS boss culture .
Decision making is behind doors does not take employee s inputs they hear it for the sake of it but don't use it

    Advice to Management

Creative and innovative work keeps employees happy and keeps company ahead of competition due to large innovative contribution from big employee pool. Two groups like product and R&D should not be separated hard lines ,keeps soft division by keeping groups but rotate people between R&D and verification .

    Pros

Safe now because it gets one global big customer.
Company does look after the employee

    Cons

Not Creative and have no big ideal for future product & market.
Too many middle range managers and Lead posts.

    Advice to Management

Have some vision for future and create a new product for new market

    Pros

Stable company (whilst business is good)
    Some People are OK.

    Cons

Type of Work in main product is painful!
Will be working on verification nearly all the time.
    Stale atmosphere.
    Too much ineffective middle-management.

    Advice to Management

Agree with previous reviews Too much office politics and people who are good at this will succeed. Allow more work flexibility.

Good benefits, always kept informed on what is going on, senior leadership team ( most of ) very visible. Lots of perks like free snacks/fruit, work place massages each quarter etc etc.

    Cons

None can think of, maybe some long hours/ weekend work

I worked at Dialog Semiconductor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A very easygoing atmosphere, and working with some of the brightest people around. The atmosphere can be a bitt geeky, but that seems to suit most of as that's exactly what we are, geeks. Atleast you can be sure that you won't have to suffer any boring talk about X-Factor, Strictly Come Dancing, East Enders or similar

    Cons

Overly political environment. Every action by every employee is a political act, and unless you, your boss and your boss's boss are ALL equally adept at playing the political game, no amount of talent alone will get you to where you want to be. Your better off being bad at your job but a good political operator than the other way round.

As the company grows (which it has been doing for some time), new processes, procedures and software (usually produced in-house) are rolled out, that provide an increasingly heavy burden. Efficiency and quality take a dive, but atleast the processes are followed.

    Advice to Management

Listen to people at the coalface who actually do the jobs

I have been working at Dialog Semiconductor full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Paid training courses, many benefits and stock options. Some engineers are paid very generously. Most importantly, the company has a future.

    Cons

Bad location (Swindon). Design engineers mostly do verification (unless you're a Principle Engineer) and learn little. The business (power management) is not very interesting. Large gaps in engineering salaries.

    Cons

Compensation package not upto market standards, work culture is pretty geeky unlike companies like google where its more open and friendly etc
